Fans of the obscure-turned-famous pairing of the bug-themed hero Ladybug and the dragon-like Ryuko are devastated to hear the latter confirm what we all have known deep down—that the couple is not, in fact, dating.
But who can blame them? This new and hot relationship blooming between the bright and upbeat leader of the Miraculers and one of its members, known to be the most enigmatic and cold, had been nothing more than 10-second edits of eye contact and short fan stories… until just recently.

Ladybug: Oh, I can’t say much, I mean… I’m not him, I wouldn’t know how he feels. *chuckle* But with Hawk Moth gone, Paris is now safe from scary and powered-up villains. There’s no longer that need for a big hero team. We’re still going to be helping the people of Paris, of course, but maybe we should start considering the possibility of the Miraculers formally disbanding, or at least slowing down.
Q: How about you personally, Ladybug? Do you think you’ll retire from your hero identity soon, or are you going to keep protecting Paris?
Ladybug: Me? Uh, you know, I’m… not so sure. I just— Well, I’ve been a superhero for so long, I think it’s become a part of me. If I stop, I’ll feel like something’s just… missing. Know what I mean?
So, we can expect to see you swinging across the city skylines for decades to come, huh?
Ladybug: *laughs* Okay, maybe not that long. Definitely not until I have grey hair! Well… Um, actually, I might pass down the Ladybug Miraculous to someone else, like an apprentice or something? *hums quietly* We’ll see, we’ll see.

(Ryuko is seen calming a little boy holding a teddy bear. She creates wind that blows his hair upwards, eliciting a giggle.)
(Anonymous recorder slips in between frightened inhabitants and bystanders. The camera angle is slightly tilted. Ryuko’s name is chanted throughout the crowd.)

(Firefighters and ambulances arrive. Ryuko provides her account to the emergency workers. She begins to walk away.)
Camera: Ryuko, Ryuko! Over here, please! I have a question!
Ryuko: (turns around) Yes?
(Multiple phones swoop in to record her voice. Ryuko’s mask shifts, but she says nothing.)
Camera: Are you dating anyone at the moment?
Ryuko: Um, no? I’m sorry, why are we talking about this?
Camera: Well, there has been speculation that some of the Miraculous heroes are dating each other, with pairings like Carapace and Rena Rouge as well as Rooster Bold and Caprikid. Do you have anything to say about that? Are you okay with the superheroes dating?
(Ryuko looks around.)
Ryuko: Whatever the other superheroes do is their own business. If they’re dating, well, good for them, and if not, that’s fine too.
Camera: What if the couples bring their personal feelings and arguments into the team? Aren’t you worried it could jeopardize the Miraculers’ dynamic?
Ryuko: I trust that they know better than to act unprofessionally when tending to hero duties.
Camera: What about you, Ryuko? Are you open to dating within your team?
Ryuko: As I said, I don’t have a negative opinion on dating fellow Miraculers, so you could say I’m open to the idea. But I sense that’s not the answer you’re looking for. This is about me and Ladybug, isn’t it?
Camera: Oh, uh, I apologize if that came out wrong. Well, honestly—
(Ryuko cuts the cameraman off.)
Ryuko: No, we’re not dating. Ladybug has admirable qualities—excellent leadership skills, extremely brave, intelligent, maybe even charming—but we’re not a couple. That’s all the time I have. I’m sorry to cut this interview short. Goodbye.
(Ryuko shouts “Wind dragon!” before disappearing into the skies while the cameras chase futilely after her.)
