Summary
Baizhu approaches it as an experiment.
Zhongli refuses to proceed without a contract.What begins as a clinical discussion of controlled pain becomes something far more deliberate; an exchange of authority, consent, and carefully defined limits. Every term is negotiated. Every boundary is named. Nothing is left to assumption.
But Baizhu is not seeking knowledge alone, and Zhongli is not as unaffected as he appears.
Three days later, theory gives way to practice and somewhere between anticipation and impact, both of them realize this was never just an experiment.
