    Caitlyn stood in the doorway for a long moment, watching her. She catalogued the details the way she always did– the faint crease the desk’s edge had pressed into Vi's forearm, the ink smear at the heel of her hand, the particular set of her jaw that meant she was too tired to notice that she was tired. The ache in Caitlyn's chest was familiar and fierce—a tenderness that had no clean word for it, but that always seemed to simmer through Caitlyn’s chest whenever she got the rare opportunity to observe Vi when she didn’t particularly realize that she was being observed.
    A soft smile played at a corner of Caitlyn’s lips.
    "Come to bed, love." she murmured quietly, her lips brushing the shell of Vi's ear. "Just finish it in the morning."
