Here I will post a timeline of the events in my fanfic "Innocent Heart, Demoniac Blood", to make things clearer. With a bit of world-building, I tried to keep it as close as possible to the anime's timeline, however, I made many changes:
• Since many characters don't have a canonical age or birthdate, I created some using the episode number or the date of their debut in the anime or manga.
• Some characters are older or younger than in the anime/manga.
• Due to the age change, some of the sensei teams (like Ibiki, Ebisu, Gemna) were completely altered, or don't exist. But I won't change the teams of the current generation.
• I created certain characters to fill in gaps in the stories, such as Konohamaru's parents, and the previous Jinchūrikis, who were marked as [oc]. Or I gave them names and stories. They will not be marked as [oc].
How the timeline works:
• It will be divided into eras, so each one will have a chapter. The fic will be marked as finished, but I will add chapters whenever an arc ends and another begins, following the story's updates.
• I use the real and a fictional calendar to know how many days pass, so the timeline follows the same seasons and months as our world.
• The main fanfic starts in 1538, the year of the Konoha 12's graduation.
• Each year will be marked like this:
YEAR 30 ADF - 1413 (128 years ago)
Or
YEAR 81 DDF - 1525 (16 years ago)
• "YEAR XX DDF" is the calendar used by the Fire Nation and some of the elemental nations, marking from the founding of the village of Konoha, which began the new era. I am Brazilian, so this timeline was originally written in Portuguese. ADF stands for "Before the Founding (of the village)", and DDF stands for "After the Founding (of the village)".
• The following year (1413/1525 for example) is the year in which the story takes place, using the global calendar.
• And (128 years ago/16 years ago) is years before Shippuden begins. So 128 years before the year in which Shippuden takes place. I hope it's too complicated
Regarding world-building:
• I changed the geography of the elemental nations. In the anime/manga, it's not specified how many ninja and non-ninja villages exist, or where they are located, so I reduced the number of nations and changed the location of some villages.
• The Ninja Academy is divided into three courses: Formative Course, Ninja Course I, and Ninja Course II. In the first course, students enter at age five and study basic things like writing, geography, and history. At seven, they move on to the Ninja course to learn chakra control, rules, techniques, and other things, and at ten, they refine the skills they have learned. The graduation age changes according to the eras. Currently, the age is thirteen.
