Chapter Text

Their cheek lies smushed against Dusekkar's calf as they sit slumped next to him. He's discussing… something with Builderman.

They can hear the two talking, and if Two Time really tried to listen they definitely could figure out what the two were saying, but it all just went in one ear and out the other. Their bony tail stayed curled against their thin form as they hugged the man's leg like a child clinging onto a parent.

…Amarah would've said they were being greedy. That they were taking too much all at once, and that they needed to focus more on their studies—

They feel Dusekkar shift slightly as Builderman gets up, and they take that to mean that they should probably let go. The other man seemed satisfied enough with whatever conclusion was drawn. Builderman says something, likely supposed to be humorous considering how his shoulders shook a bit with laughter afterwards, and Dusekkar hums in response. He sounded pleased, which made Two Time feel very happy.

They hug each other, Builderman having to lean up due to Dusekkar's… levitation problem. His gray hands linger on the lower back of the pumpkin headed man. Was it a problem? Two Time really didn't know, but it was at least difficult to get a hold of him sometimes. They would know! There were so many times when they wanted to hold his hand, only to realize he was a bit too far up from where they usually sat on the floor.

Two Time's train of thought is interrupted by Builderman crouching down, adjusting his belt with an annoyed expression— a movement the (ex-?)cultist followed closely —before opening his arms to them for a goodbye hug. Something they'd learned about eventually after coming here, mostly from Builderman after… everything.

"C'mere, bub. I've gotta go, alright?" Builder— beckoning them forward —encapsulated their thin, cold body with a hug when they finally got into his arms. They weren't too close with him personally, only really being on good terms with him because of Dusekkar, probably. That's what they assumed, anyway.

They try to nuzzle their way into the crook of his neck, but he pulls away before they can fully do so. "Okay, okay. I'll miss you, Two." He chuckles warmly, patting their back softly. It makes their tail sway a bit more energetically. "'Builder loves you."

Two Time nods, opening their mouth to say 'I love you too', but find it too difficult to conjure the words. Instead, they lean forward again to nuzzle the side of his face, displacing his hard hat in the process. His warm laughter gives them great joy.

Once Builderman seperates from them, their surroundings get tuned out for a bit as he heads out, sharing a kiss with Dusekkar quickly. It's only after the door closes and Dusekkar sits back down on the same sofa he was beforehand that they realize Builderman kissed Dusekkar.

They shuffle their way back to the sofa, head tilted on the cushion in a questioning manner towards the only one left in the room. Besides them, of course.

The other looks up from the book he's picked up from a side table and tilts his head right back, flame flicking endlessly inside. "Is something askew?" There's a pause, and as the man only gets blinks in response he continues. "Are you alright, Two?"

They absentmindedly nod, mind pleasantly pretty quiet compared to what it's usually like. The sentinel could feel themselves forgetting about what they'd witnessed earlier. They feel like they're floating, eyes closing as they lean more heavily against the soft sofa. It felt good to have peace and quiet.

At the sound of a firm tap on the floor, they open their eyes to see Dusekkar holding his staff. Ah. That must've been what made that noise. "Apologies, my dear. I did not mean to cause any fear."

Two Time hums, tail and body relaxing again. They actually feel sleepy, now that they think about it. Seemingly Dusekkar notices too, as he stands and attempts to make them do the same. With help, of course.

"You have behaved quite well." The support affectionately starts, "Come now, child, your worries we will quell." He manages to pick them up finally, holding them under their armpits as they feebly stand like a wet cat.

Despite their tired nature, the bony tail attached to their body starts to wag with fervor. Before the man can even make an attempt to let them go, they press themselves close to him and hug him. He'd put them down in surprise as soon as they moved closer, not expecting them to do what they did probably. That just made it easier for them!

Two Time giggles, nuzzling their way into the crook of his neck. They're glad they caught the man so off guard! It was really amusing to them. The other chuckles at their actions, leaning down slightly to pick the ex-cultist up. The movement made their positions a bit awkward for a moment, but to Two Time, it was worth it to be in his arms.

Their usually cold body felt so warm now. As the other begins to walk,— or move, considering the fact that Dusekkar pretty much always floated —Two Time felt content with the silence that filled the air. It felt really nice, not being expected to talk or respond to anything, that is. They felt safe with him and in his arms.

If you would've told them that they'd feel like this around the wizard when they first got here, they probably would think that you were blind. Or stupid. That's saying something! Usually, they tried not to think that way about others. It was what they were taught, after all.

They feel themselves shift, body tilting to the left as Dusekkar uses his right hand to open a door. They glance at the inside of the room… ah! It's his room! It's his room!

Their tail whips behind them, and Two Time feels a jolt of what they can only describe as electricity shoot through their body as happiness fills every crevice of them. Though, they whine lightly as they're put down on a bed, mind going blank as the physical contact between them and Dusekkar is lost. They know he's right there, logically, and he isn't leaving or anything, but… it still hurt. In a way.

Spawn, Two Time was greedy. Always wanting more, more, more. Never being satisfied… they whine again, and immediately feel really guilty for doing so. They needed to give him space! They couldn't be near him all the time, no matter how they felt. They—

The train of thought is broken by a snap of someone's fingers. Dusekkar. Their head snaps upwards, tail perking up too with a wag. They're immediately focused, knowing the only person that does that is him. Other people have tried, but it usually is met with some unpleasant reactions, so nobody really does that anymore. Builderman does, sometimes, but only if he's really desperate. That's what they think, anyway.

Their chin is taken into his hand, and he appears to be thinking for a moment. That process stops abruptly as the door behind them opens, Dusekkar's flame flickering and struggling to return to its original size after moving his head so quickly. when the door to the room opens, Dusekkar turning around so quickly his flame struggles to get back to its original size for a moment. "Oh, my sun." The pure adoration in

"Oh, my sun…" He affectionately drawls/purrs, opening his arms. Two Time, ever so curious, tries to peer around his body. They only get a glimpse of black before the person flies into his arms, throwing their own around his torso. They glance at the hands, and then hood of the person…

Taph! Their tail starts wagging quickly, moving forward a bit on hands and knees. Only a little bit, though, as the two weren't that far. They watch the two share a kiss, two heads so different from one another pressed together.

They pull away, and the two turn to Two Time. Taph's wings flutter, and they excitedly bring the other into an embrace after they make an attempt to reach for them. Dusekkar only laughs, petting Taph's head lovingly.

Two Time nuzzles into the demolitionists robes, inhaling the scent as their tail continues to flick back and forth.

"Alright, let us let Two down, I believe they're done." Dusekkar gives Taph a pat on the shoulder, and they set Two time right back down onto the bed. The ex-cultist whines at the loss of contact, but the bomber(???) quickly joins them in the bed. Nuzzling against their side as their wings settle, content.

The bed dips as Dusekkar settles, finally no longer levitating. He chooses to sit in the corner, back shielded by pillows. Two Time lightly tugs at the demolitionists sleeve, pointing at Dusekkar. They want to sit near him.

Taph nods, and the two soon find themselves settled just like the wizard himself. Two Time in the middle of the two lovers. They feel safe, zoning out sleepily as the two communicate solely through sign language. They liked being this close to daddy and papa.

Their brain feels like it's melting pleasantly, not even processing the fact that they just addressed Taph and Dusekkar in their mind as parents. Two Time leans into the wizards side, absentmindedly hugging his arm. He seems to sigh, and then starts speaking. The vibrations in his body as he speaks are very nice to hear.

They feel their mind slipping away, succumbing to sleep soon after.

Notes:
