Work Text:
Crutchie loved the idea of romance, of being in a romantic relationship, but...
Well, when it came down to it, he just didn't feel that way for people. Hell, he hardly even felt physical attraction most of the time, let alone anything deeper.
When he realized this about himself, he wondered if he was broken. Surely he was, because otherwise he'd be chasing after girls like everyone else. Or, hell, even chasing after guys.
It was Jack he told first. The boy had taken it well, assuring Crutchie that he didn't need to be in a relationship to be complete, and that it was okay if he never found that special someone.
This made Crutchie feel a bit more confident and, slowly but surely, he told each of the other Newsies.
Some of them didn't really get it, and tried to reassure him by saying he just hadn't found the right girl yet, but they all meant well, and they all still loved him regardless.
Because, at the end of the day, he was their brother, and nothing would change that.
