Chapter Text
Sakuya couldn't help but notice Sion's body language whenever he is with a certain someone. He'd laugh loudly, make jokes, and he's so easygoing every time he talks. Somehow, all these things come crashing down when he's next to a pretty boy named Park Jisung. Dream and Wish are in the same practice room together working on a stage collab. Sakuya leans closer to Ryo who was clinging beside him.
"Ryo don't you think it's weird that Sion hyung's always so shy around Jisung hyung?" Sakuya whispered to the boy beside him. "Hmm, I don't think it's odd. Jisung hyung is quiet and shy while Sion hyung is also somewhat of an introvert so it would make sense they would be shy with each other." Ryo replies while playing with the fabric of Sakuya's shirt. Maybe Ryo was right, and it's just their introverted sides that make them really shy around each other.
He couldn't help but think of something deeper within the shy exterior and how Sion stares at him so deeply sometimes. The voice of the dance instructor snapped him out of his thoughts. Sakuya and Ryo stood up to resume dance practice. Just as he was walking to get into position, he saw beside him that Sion bumped into Jisung a bit. Seeing how Sion got so shy and blushy from something as simple as that was a very interesting sight to see for Sakuya. Sakuya focuses again when the dance instructor starts speaking again.

After that thing happened, Sakuya is finally going to the bakery he's been wanting to go to for a while now.
Sakuya has been begging Sion to go to the bakery with him and Ryo for weeks now. Today is finally the day he gets to go to the bakery and eat the delicious food he's been craving since the start of the month. They reached the shop and when they walked in, Sakuya smelled the scent of bread and sweets. Sakuya bought a croissant, Ryo bought a small cake, and Sion bought a cookie.
As they were walking to a table all of a sudden they heard a familiar voice call out to them. "Sion! Is that you?" the familiar voice called out. They turned around to see Chenle, Renjun, and Jisung sitting on a table. He notices Sion freeze up beside him. Before saying or processing anything, Ryo walks over to sit next to Chenle excitedly. Sakuya and Sion walked over to the table and Sakuya glanced at the empty seats. One next to Renjun, the other next to Jisung.
Sakuya knew he had something to prove to himself. He walked faster and sat next to Renjun before Sion could even think of sitting next to him. He greeted his hyungs with a smile and he noticed how Sion seemed a bit more stiff now. Sion sits next to Jisung anyway because it's not like he has another choice.
They talk about life, hobbies, and other interesting things happening around them. Jisung starts talking about a new game he started playing. Sakuya takes a glance at Sion who seems to be way more focused on Jisung's features than what he's actually talking about. He's so focused on Jisung that he forgot to take a bite of the cookie he picked up that he clearly planned to eat. Instead, the cookie stays at chest level, while his eyes are on Jisung.
After they said goodbye and came back to their dorms and respective rooms, Sakuya hugged his roommate from behind and asked him "Did you see how Sion hyung kept staring at Jisung hyung? It seemed like he was way more focused on his voice and face rather than what he was actually talking about. Odd don't you think?" Ryo turned his head to look at Sakuya. "Honestly, I saw it too. He kept smiling during parts that weren't even supposed to be funny." Ryo replied to Sakuya.
"Imagine Sion hyung has a crush on Jisung hyung. That would be crazy" Ryo added. "Wait, that's actually not a crazy thought you know? That explains why he acts so fidgety and shy around Jisung hyung!" Sakuya felt like something just clicked in him. Like two puzzle pieces finally connecting.
"Hey but don't jump to conclusions that quickly, maybe Sion really was interested in the game he was talking about." Ryo said while he was walking to sit on his bed leaving space for Sakuya to sit beside him. Sakuya sat in the space reserved for him and leaned closer to Ryo.
"Maybe I should just ask him..." That singular thought lingered and stuck with him the whole day.
It's the next day and Sakuya has decided he's going to ask Sion about this. He waited for the perfect time to ask. They are both in the kitchen and it's just the two of them. Sion's making cup noodles for both of them. "Hyung, can I ask you something?" Sakuya asks. "Of course you can. What is it?" Sion replies while pouring the hot water into the cup noodles. "Do you have a crush on Jisung hyung?" Sakuya asks him directly. Maybe a little too direct.
Sion stops what he's doing and freezes on the spot. Sakuya sees how Sion seems so much more tense than normal. "Oh, I don't like Jisung like that, you know? Where did you even get that idea?" Sion asks with a bit of shake in his voice. "Uhm it just seems like you stare at him a lot so I just thought that maybe you felt something for him..." Sakuya replied to Sion as Sion gave the cup noodles to him. "We have nothing going on. Don't worry too much, okay?" Sion says while blowing on the noodles. "Okay, hyung" is what Sakuya says.
"But I never asked if you guys had something going on. Just asked if you felt something for him" is what he doesn't say.

His suspicions rise even more during NCT Dream and NCT Wish promotions that overlap with each other. The members were taking turns recording with each other for content. Haechan and Yushi are currently recording a dance challenge together. Sakuya already recorded his video; he was just waiting until his members were done. He looked behind him to see Sion leaning against the wall and slightly looking up at Jisung—who was standing in front of Sion—while talking to him. It's not like they can't or never talk to each other but it's rare to see them hold a conversation this long.
Sakuya could clearly see the blush on Sion's cheeks. The smile and gaze he gives to Jisung. He can also see how soft and gentle Jisung looks while talking to Sion. The distance they both had from the rest of the group made it feel like Sakuya was interrupting something. One of the staff called for Sion's name for his turn to record. Sion waved his hand at Jisung and winked at him? Jisung looked a bit flustered too. Was he crazy? Sakuya blinked a few times before turning away.
"Maybe I was just seeing things... Yeah, that's probably it right...?" Sakuya thought to himself. Even so, it was on Sakuya's mind the whole time. He told Ryo about it later in the day but Ryo told him that he probably saw it wrong since he was watching from a distance. Maybe Ryo was right and he did see wrong but what if he didn't see wrong at all? If he didn't see anything wrong, then why did Sion, who was so shy with him when he was in the practice room, flirt with him in public like that? Especially when Sion said they had nothing going on. He really doesn't understand it anymore.

"Sakuuu I left my charger in Sion hyung's room can you get it for me?" Ryo asks Sakuya in a cute voice. Sakuya would have said no if it were anybody else but it's Ryo. He really can't say no to Ryo. "Okay, I'll get it for you." Sakuya says, opening the door. "Thank you Saku!!" Is the last thing he hears before he closes the door.
He walks over to Sion's room and he opens the door to see Sion sleeping on his bed. Probably tired from the schedules they have been doing. He comes to take where Ryo left his charger just to see Sion's phone charging next to it. He was trying to take Ryo's charger as silently as possible but then the screen lit up with a notification pop-up.

Sakuya didn't wanna invade Sion's privacy but when a name like that with a heart beside it pops up he can't help but be curious. Another notification pops up but before he could read it, he hears Sion shift in his bed. He runs out with Ryo's charger into his room. He gives Ryo his charger back and as he lies on his giant panda plushie he can't help but wonder who it is.
He feels like he knows who it is but if it was truly him why was he so stiff around him during those times? Why did he deny liking him romantically? Everything felt so confusing to him.

It's a Saturday and Sakuya is walking back to the dorms with Ryo after they finished eating together. Yushi, Riku, and Jaehee had their own plans and schedules so they aren't in the dorms right now. Sakuya tried asking Sion if he wanted to go with him and Ryo to eat but surprisingly he declined. Sion declining an offer to eat food was pretty shocking but he was just too lazy to go out of the dorm.
Sakuya unlocked the door and walked in to put his shoes away only to notice that there was another pair of shoes that he didn't recognize. "Ryo, whose shoes are these?" Sakuya says while pointing at them. "I have no idea. Did one of us buy a new pair?" Ryo said, looking down. "Hmm possibly..." Sakuya said unsure.
It got even weirder when he noticed in the sink that there were two plates, two forks, two spoons, and even a glass cup. Why would Sion need those? He always orders food delivery and eats straight from the box. Plus he has his own water bottle, so there wouldn't be a need for a glass cup. Sakuya shakes his head and walks away pretending he didn't see it.
Sakuya still tried rationalizing but as he was thinking he realised that their PS4 has two controllers plugged in. Now that was even weirder. Sion's one person, he doesn't need two controllers to play a game. Now Sakuya truly believes that Sion invited somebody over. The only question is who did he invite?
He notices Sion's door opening slightly. He knows he shouldn't care about it but he can't help himself. As he peeks closer he notices Sion and a familiar figure in his room. The man was sitting on Sion's gaming chair and had his hands on the keyboard and mouse. Sion was behind him holding his hands and it seems like he's guiding him. "They have to be really close for Sion to be this comfortable with him." Sakuya thought.
Sakuya tries to see who the man was even though it was kind of hard because of Sion's insanely bright neon purple led lights. Sakuya moves closer to see better and then it hits him. He realizes who it is but before he could process anything he sees Sion turn the chair around and lean in closer. Way too close to just be friends.
Sakuya runs back into his room before he could see them close the gap in between them. "Saku you look like you saw a ghost. What happend?" Ryo said looking up from his phone. "It's more shocking than a ghost" Sakuya replied, walking closer to Ryo.
Sakuya reached where Ryo was sitting and looked him dead in the eye. "Sion hyung and Jisung hyung are dating no way they aren't." Ryo flinches and looks shocked. "What made you think that?" Ryo said as he tried to look for any indication of any facial changes in Sakuya's face to see if he's joking but Sakuya was serious.
"It's not just a thought Ryo they are dating! I saw Jisung hyung in Sion hyung's room and I almost saw them kiss too! That's why neither of us recognized the shoes next to the door, why the sink had more dishes and utensils than needed, and why the PS4 had two controllers plugged in. Also, all the times I've told you about Sion hyung acting weird towards Jisung makes sense!" Sakuya said, trying to make Ryo believe him. Ryo just stared at him stunned and blinked at him multiple times. "Well I mean if they are dating then what?" Ryo told Sakuya.
"Then I'm not crazy and everything really does make sense! I wasn't seeing things at all" Sakuya moves closer to Ryo and it hits him that he probably sounds even crazier to Ryo saying these things. "But I think that's cute, you know? Sion hyung and Jisung hyung are the same age, they both like similar things, and if they are both happy then it should be fine." Ryo said while looking back on his phone.
Sakuya leans his head on Ryo's shoulder. "You're right. I'm just happy that at least my assumptions were right about them." He leaned closer to Ryo and watched the videos he was scrolling on. It satisfied him that his guessing and the clues he collected weren't just something he made up in his head and that's enough for him.
