“It will,” Hoseok tells him quietly. “One day.”
Another long pause. Hoseok is still looking up at the unlit fixtures on the ceiling, but he can hear Taehyung take another drink of his beer, short and huffy.
The base of the bottle hits the countertop. He groans.
“One day can’t come soon enough.”
Or, the one where Hoseok and Taehyung wake up one day, ten years in the future, to find that nothing is as they expected it would be, and the answers that will take them back won't be so easily found.

Summary
Due to a strange quirk of evolution, alphas and omegas have become increasingly rare. Most people live their entire lives as betas, without giving it a second thought. Even those with secondary gender characteristics can only present if they fall in love with their soulmate. Of course, the chances of soulmates finding each other are even lower than the numbers of actual alphas and omegas.
The odds? Roughly one in a million.
Jimin and Taehyung assume they're betas, like everyone else in the group. Like everyone else they know, actually.
