Chapter Text
Tibo wouldn’t say that this year had been a bad year. He enjoyed the time spent with this friends and classmates, partied until dawn and had fairly good memories of the schoolyear. No big drama, no break up (which is of course impossible if you’re single), and just.. nothing big. He used to wish for a relaxed year like this but something throughout the schoolyear felt lacking. Lacking how? He wasn’t sure. What was lacking? Why had he been subject to this aching empty feeling of something missing, when he himself hadn’t noticed anything missing?
It’s peculiar, and Thibo wanted nothing more than to find out what that feeling was. It was an enigma to him, a big quiz that caused hesitation and made him want to examine his own abstract feelings. Let’s simplify it; why would he feel lacking when he had everything anyone could want to have? Rich parents, nice vacations, tons of friends, and well.. he may have been lacking a bit in the partner department but that could always be subject to change. Last schoolyear had been rather ordinary in comparison with the last two, it had been more uneventful, but that wasn’t the cause of his unsatisfied feelings.
Yeah whatever, it wasn’t worth mulling and pondering about. Since when was he one to think about such sentimental bullshit? It’s only distracting him of the long vacation he was about to go on. Now, he had no idea why has parents had picked this destination, but anywhere away from Belgium would suffice. Admittedly, going skiing in the summer warmth instead of just going to a hot and warm vacation resort, is certainly.. a choice..!
The boy had made a mental checklist in his head for things he’s absolutely going to try to do this two week vacation:
-Make tons of friends, preferably local ones, so he can go out drinking with them in the cheapest pub nearby.
-Go skiing, obviously? Why else would he be going to such a cold place in the summer?
-Meet some chicks at the hotel resort, or a local club. He wasn’t going to make it alive through those two weeks without some source of entertainment, you know!
-Get wasted. No explanation needed.
-And just go with the flow.
Yeah, that’s about it, he hadn’t really planned much but at least he had the general idea of what’s he’s going to do. Tibo just hoped it would go fine and without any complications or accidental injuries. Of course he might fall, but he didn’t feel like ending up with a giant rip in your leg and having to stay low and do nothing for the rest of summer vacation. So being careful would be wise.. but those two adjectives don't fit him anyway.
“Tibo! Get your mind out of the gutter, and get your luggage downstairs!” A sudden voice broke through, interrupting his mental checklist of the vacation. Groaning, Thibo took the luggage filled with stuff deemed important to have in his hand and left him room to drag it all downstairs, barely catching himself from tumbling down the stairs. “Jeez, what were you doing up there? I called you like 4 times, and you didn’t answer any except the last. Do you ever listen?” His mom’s sharp voice filled the room.
Deciding it was best to reply to his mother before she had her fourth crashout of the week (it's tuesday) he calmy explained: “Sorry, listening to music, had it up way too loud you know?” He was in fact not listening to music, just lost in his own thoughts but he would rather eat shit before he’d admit that to his mother. He'd rather not have to talk at all to his mother, the whining bore that she is, but foster parents suck even more in his personal opinion. -
