Summary
Dennis reaches for his phone, the line immediately cutting off after he pressed to call Jack’s number. He can’t help but laugh at what he’s doing.
It’s silly.
It’s so fucking silly to think that Jack would pick up.
Jack doesn’t answer. Why would he? He’s dead. Jumped. Killed himself after not being able to save Robby.
It’s been ten years.
Ten.
It’s been so long. Dennis should’ve at least have moved on from this. They weren’t even together. He didn’t have the courage to confess his feelings to the attending. Or maybe Dennis thought he had enough time. He thought he had enough time to sum up the strength to pull the attending from the roof, beg for his heart—to not jump from the other side and reach for Dennis’ arms instead.
He should have moved on from now.
But why does it still hurt?
And why did he freeze when he saw a silver-haired man on the bus stop earlier on his way home?
Dennis felt like he’s been poured ice-cold water all over his body the moment he spots him.
