Chapter Text
“I just wish, I could have saved you. The same way, you saved me.”
“Im sorry, Cap’n.”
The dry, suffocating air surrounded both Player and Calypso in the temple.
Both were traumatized, but there was a key difference between the two’s actions.
One went to the loot, the other to mourn.
Players took their steps to the Firebrand. One, two, three too many. Their beat up feet traveled further to the shiny sword. On their way to retrieve it, their oh-so-strong legs tripped over one of the smallest of rocks.
They still took another step toward the sword, trying to regain their balance. Then another over the sword. Then a third, too many, over the edge.
At this point, Player expected to experience the magma burning them alive. Spoiler, they didn't. Instead, all their senses went numb, as if they were dreaming. Though it didn't feel like a dream. Dreams had at least something going on. It was more like… a void.
“Do you wish to restart?”
“..what?”
“You can do this all over again. Make things right with the king, the mayor, yourself, and all the others you’ve hurt.”
If they could, they would do anything to get the weight off their shoulders. But how?
“yeah.. id like that..”
“what do i need to do?”
“Just agree. You’re destined to complete this quest, so you don't really have a choice.”
Destined, huh. All thanks to those seven swords. But then again, if they didn't take on the quest, maybe they would have died.
Was Player really speaking? Was this just their mind playing tricks on them? That would make more sense. Then again, if this really was real, it would be a golden oppurtunity.
Time felt as if it were a large breeze, sweeping them right into the very moment they first woke up in the past.
“Hey. Wake up. Get up goober…”
“Hey, did you have a good nap?”
