   John thinks back to the relief he felt when he saw Javier's face up there back on that mountain, when he felt he was going to die and Javier had appeared like a saving angel. Now Javier is looking at him coldly and John can't remember what it feels like to be kissing him – so much has happened since.

   "Should've let me die back then if you were gonna look at me like that," he hisses, harshly despite himself, bitterness seeping through his tone.
