He calls when it gets dark outside, pretends he misdialed. Sometimes Aaron hangs up on him. Usually he plays along, their little unwatched two-hander.
They talk of nothing much: work, exercise, Andrew's awful cat. Never long—Aaron is a stingy conversationalist.
They're the only times Kevin sleeps through the night.
