Soon after the gun adventure ended, everyone left the main area to sleep except Jax and Pomni, leaving them both stranded within the circus walls.
Jax looked off to the side, trying to put on a nonchalant facade, although he couldn’t help but frown, his thoughts was still racing from the argument, but jax tried to push them away, he was the funny one, why is he caring about that so much? Suddenly, as he looked off into space- lost in thought; his head began to hurt. Jax felt memories flood through his head, his time with ribbit, kaufmo, ragatha… he was so happy back then, but of course two of them abstracted, oh god he was so DAMN PATHETIC. jax knew he had to be careful- he pushed them all away like a coward, he didn’t want to feel hurt, jax feared he would lose someone again… like ribbit-
“Jax? A- are you alright?”
Jax immediately woke up from his internal spiralling, the bunny didn’t even realise that he was sobbing until Pomni confronted him. Jax jumped back in surprise as the jester wiped his tears off the rabbits face.
“Oh- sorry… it’s just uhm… your crying..”
Pomni apologised, looking at the bunny with a concerned, but kind expression; her pinwheel eyes glowing with a beauty even Jax got dazed by it. the rabbit stared at her, embarassed by his own tears falling down his cheek but also distracted by Pomnis gorgeous voice and pretty eyes, it felt hard to look away.
“Jax? You… there?” Pomni asked, the jesters concern became more noticeable on her face while the rabbits pupils grew, still staring at Pomni. “Uh… jax?” Pomni put her hand through the rabbits ears, gently rubbing it as an attempt to wake him up from his state; suddenly, jax stepped back and his eyes turned into tiny pinpricks, the bunny pushed her hand off his shoulder, blushing deeply.
“EW- don’t do that!” He turned beet red as he tried to hide his face, the rabbit clearly distressed, Pomni put a hand on his shoulder. “You don’t have to push me away.” Jax looked at her, scared of his own emotions. Jax tried not to show his obviously flustered expression; but the blushing rabbit still attempted to act cool- despite his heart feeling like it could pound out of his chest, what is this feeling?
“Pfft- still tryna act like everything is sunshine and rainbows?” Jax said with a false smile, it was far too obvious though.
“I’m not that stupid, jax.” Pomni said with a soft but angry expression, “you’re a bad liar, can’t you just be honest for once?”
“Ugh, you’re such a party pooper…” Jax laughed, although Pomni was right, he was a bad liar, it was becoming increasingly difficult for jax to keep his cool… especially with such a kind jester trying to pry him open. “You remind me of my mom” he groaned; the rabbit was trying not to give in to his romantic desires, oh god- Pomni was beautiful as $£#%.
Pomni facepalmed, but she still didn’t want to give up; the jester looked up at the rabbit. “We can talk about this later… just know you’re not alone, Kay?”
Pomni walked off into the hallway, probably going to her room; leaving Jax as the only person in the main area.
(The next day)
Everyone is near the stage, as Caine teleported to the main area.
“WELCOME! MY LUXURIOUS LORAZEPAMS! TODAYS ADVENTURE IS-“
“Isn’t that a type of medication?”
“WELL YES POMNI- BUT THATS BESIDE THE POINT!” Caine flew up higher “TODAYS ADVENTURE IS… THE CRUEL CARNIVAL CALAMITY!”
Gangle looked at the others, and then back at Caine. “Uh, ‘calamity’? What exactly is gonna happen?”
“YOU SEE MY DEAR RIBBON FELLA! THE CARNIVAL IS FULL OF CHILLING MYSTERIES! EVERY NPC IS WILLING TO MURDER WITH THE POWER OF A DANGEROUS, DISASTROUS DISEASE! NOT ONLY THAT! BUT I ALSO INCREASED THE PAIN LEVEL FOR THIS ADVENTURE! WHAT DO YALL THINK?!!”
Gangles mask shattered on its own, Ragatha looked on edge, Jax seemed unfazed, zooble looked annoyed, and Pomni felt a bit panicked.
“WELL WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR! THE DISASTER ISNT WAITING FOR ANYONE!”
Caine shoved them into the portal, before the fractal noise disappeared.
(At the carnival)
The jester seemingly teleported within the carnival. It was night time with lots of bright light’s everywhere, the carnival itself was huge. Pomni looked around at the area- it was surprisingly pleasant enough for the jester to crack a smile; but before she could appreciate the beauty of the carnival any longer, the loud noises suddenly became overwhelming, the constant children laughing and rollercoaster music was loud enough for Pomni to immediately cover her ears. The poor jester hated loud noises.
Despite being overstimulated, she tried to look around and wasn’t able to spot any circus members, wait, where are they?
“Hello? Ragatha? Jax? ANYONE?!” Pomni shouted, the jester felt like she was on the brink of crying from the loud noises and loneliness, she tried to sit at a darker grassy area of the carnival; and started sobbing in a curled up position.
“Oh thank GOD you’re here!”
Pomni looked up to see who it was that said that, to her surprise; it was Jax- who looks seemingly tired out.
“Some mannequin started chasing me with a big £#& SYRINGE!” Jax exasperated, he immediately noticed Pomnis tears crawling slowly down her cheek. the rabbits heart fluttered at the jesters face- Jax didn’t want to admit it but he felt a little strange? he didn’t know what he was feeling and why it was so sudden, but it was enough to make his face go red.
Pomni looked up at the rabbit, seeing his blushing expression. the jester was never that good at nonverbal communication; but she was quick to connect the dots- her face glowing a slight shade of red as the jester covered her face in realisation.
The rabbit noticed that his flustered face was obvious. “YOU SAW NOTHING!!” He screeched immediately in embarassment, however this only contributed to Pomnis sensory overload; her crying began to get louder as she kept punching her head.
Jax didn’t know how to handle this, he was rather confused at Pomnis meltdown; the rabbit tried patting her back hesitantly but it didn’t do anything, instead the jester shuffled away at that interaction.
“Too loud too loud!-“ she only continued to punch herself more as she cried- almost struggling to breathe every few seconds, her head was pounding and the poor jester felt pathetic and unable to communicate her thoughts properly without screaming.
Jax couldn’t help but step back, he was still trying to be the funny one and wanted to push her away and use her vulnerability to his advantage but even the prankster himself still felt too guilty to leave Pomni there to cry, plus it would be a good idea to get away from a carnival literally trying to kill you. He quickly grabbed the jester in a bridal position and ran towards the exit of the carnival, which led to a nearby forest; the rabbit slowly put Pomni down on the ground under a tree as jax sat beside her, the rabbit opened his mouth as if he was gonna say something but kept quiet.
Pomni was surprised by how somewhat kind jax was, she was still sobbing a bit but the peace and quiet over here slowly made her relax. “Th- thank you.. Jax, you- you didn’t have to do that..” Pomni said, still sniffling but she cracked a small smile.
“Oh shut up, I only did it because the carnival was literally trying to kill us”
“But you still tried to help me-“
Jax put a finger over her mouth, “FORGET I DID ANYTHING!” Jax shouted, obviously embarassed from helping the jester; Pomni got startled by his sudden shouting.
The rabbit felt an overwhelming sense to kiss her, he has been getting mildly flustered over her since the jesters arrival but his love for Pomni has never been this strong; she was just so beautiful and kind and pretty and he could go on. at this point Jax couldnt control himself. His heart was working faster than his brain, the space between them started to close as the purple bunny kissed Pomni right on the lips before quickly pulling away, his face turned redder than it already was.
Pomni immediately blushed in surprised but instead of pulling away like jax did, she kissed the rabbit on the mouth as well; this time being more slow and intimate. The jester climbed on top of Jax, who was basically redder than a tomato.
She gently traced her hand along the rabbits waist as they continued kissing, then Pomni released herself from his mouth, but was still sitting on top of Jax as he laid on the forest floor. “You’re cuter than I originally thought, bunny boy..” Pomni said, with a charming soft tone; as the jester leaned in to kiss Jax on the cheek and then on the neck.
Jax didn’t hesitate or tell Pomni to stop, instead, he surprisingly found himself enjoying this. the rabbit was shaking in excitement; giggling and simply loving the moment, he practically forgot to act like “the funny one”.
“You’re so sweet for a prankste- oh $#%£”
Jax noticed the jesters sudden shock, he turned his head to where Pomni was facing only to realise Zooble had been watching this entire interaction; Pomni was still on top of Jax, frozen in embarassment.
“Did I…. Interrupt a moment?..” Zooble said quietly, mostly in shock.
“ITS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!-“ Pomni yelled, still in the romantic position.
“Pomni, you’re literally on top of Jax while he has HICKEYS all over his neck?!”
“…” Pomni couldn’t bring herself to say anything, while jax just stared at Zooble wide-eyed, his pupils as small as pinpricks. The jester slowly crawled off the rabbit cautiously, still blushing.
“If I’m being honest, I’m more surprised Pomni is a top and Jax is submissive.” Zooble replied.
“IM NOT SUBMISS-“ Jax yelled.
“Stage one, denial.”
“BUT IM NOT- THAT- IT- IT WAS A MISTAKE-“ Jax practically screamed while pulling on his ears
“Stage two, anger”
“UGH NO- I CAN FIX THAT!”
“Stage three, bargaining”
Pomni almost forgot about the whole situation, giggling on the floor; but Pomni quickly realised a small problem before her and Jax should get back to the others.
“Uhm, what do we do about the… uh… hickeys, It’s a bit… obvious.”
Jax turns his head around, his heart still beating faster than ever. “HOW AM I MEANT TO KNOW, YOU DID THEM TO ME!”
“You could’ve literally told me to stop that entire time” Pomni replied, with a deadpan expression, although still blushing.
Zooble was quietly giggling to herself, until she heard a portal open from nearby. “I think the others completed the adventure”
“Oh god I can’t go to the circus with- with THESE THINGS ON MY NECK!” Jax yelled
Pomni tried to shush the rabbit, before quickly saying “just- it’s not too bad, they won’t notice”. Pomni wasn’t that great at comforting thought, but all Jax wanted to do right now was go to his room so he hesitantly agreed, as the three made their way back to the group.
As they went through the portal, Gangle was the first one to notice the hickeys on the rabbits neck. “Uh jax.. are those…”
“wha- SHUSH!” Jax tried to block Gangles mouth; before saying “don’t tell anyone!..”
Gangle nodded but tried to silently giggle with her hand (ribbon?) at her mouth, as she thought about who would’ve gave Jax the hickeys, Gangle looked through the options, and quickly connecting the dots. “Did you make out with Pomni?” Gangle whispered to jax, and he refused to reply.
Gangle could assume what happened though. As soon as the gang made it to the main area, jax sprinted towards his room, so the others wouldn’t see the “marks”, Pomni came with him though.
“Hey jax…” Pomni said quietly, sitting at the end of his bed while Jax sat on a random chair. “You dont need to hide your emotions from me… you already let your walls down, so please be honest with me.”
Jax nodded hesitantly; it was too late to say no, considering the rabbit was literally being submissive to Pomni back in the carnival forest thing.
The jester took his nod as a gesture to go on, “are you okay? Like really?” Jax wanted to say a cheeky remark but Pomni’s voice was laced with a warmth that was enough to make him show his real self; he sighed before saying “do I look okay to you?” The rabbit realised that might have came out a little harsher than he wanted it to be, but Pomni didn’t even to mind; instead, she stood up from the foot of the bed and hugged Jax who was sitting at the chair.
“Everything will be okay” Pomni assured softly, her precious eyes stared back at the blushing rabbit, who began crying, he HATED how pathetic and helpless he was, but the jester never judged him for it. Pomni kissed his forehead gently before saying “you can tell me anything..”
Jax felt himself freeze in place, he had no idea what to say; he spent all these years being the funny one only to get vulnerable around the newbie. “I just… I just don’t want to lose you” the words slipped out the rabbits mouth before he realised what he said, silently begging that Pomni didn’t hear it.
“What makes you think il abstract?..”
“I’ve already lost the others, please don’t let me lose you”
“Don’t worry, we can be sweethearts together… forever…”
Jax immediately softened up at her reassuring words, the gap between them closed, as they kissed each others lips, before jax accidentally fell asleep on the chair. Pomni chuckled softly as she slowly brought the rabbit to the bed, the jester climbed in with him, as she cuddled Jax under the blankets. Pomni began to sing a sweet tune…
“Daisy Daisy…”
“Give me your answer, do….”
“I’m half crazy…”
“All for the love of you…”
“It won’t be a stylish marriage…”
“I can’t afford a carriage…”
“But you’ll look sweet…”
“Upon the seat….”
“Of a bicycle built for two…”
They really could be sweethearts, forever.
