Notes:

I know I'm slow to update on my other story, but I couldn't resist writing this story after listening to the ideas my husband (who hardly gets into fanfiction) started creating after watching the final episode: More. Please enjoy this story that I'm working on with my husband and let us know what you think.

Chapter Text

Chapter 1

“We need all available heroes to a scene of a villain attack in Tatooine Shopping Mall. There’s a villain with an unknown quirk terrorizing shoppers and is said to be armed with Trigger. Everyone be cautious," a woman's voice with as calm professionalism as possible could be heard calling out over the hero network radios.

Izuku sat at his desk in the teacher's office grading papers while Ochako was leaning against his desk, slightly sitting on it. Classes had ended just a couple of hours prior and Izuku was trying to finish some final grades before heading home with his wife who had come to wait for him after her patrol shift had ended. A few teachers sat around finishing last minute work including Present Mic, Aizawa, Cementoss, and Yagi. Everyone's heads had popped up from what work they were doing as soon as the shrill alarm sounds could be heard coming from their phones.

"Guess that's our cue to leave," Ochako said excitedly as she pushed away from the desk, heading to the office door.

Izuku reached down to grab his briefcase with his suit as he rushed to follow her out as he could hear the other teachers calling out behind them saying, "be careful... see you tomorrow..." From inside the office, the other teachers could see as the couple lifted off into the air, Ochako attached to Izuku by one of her cords as his suit propelled them through the sky. The proud expressions of the older teachers couldn't be hidden even behind Aizawa's scarf.

Upon arriving at the scene, Izuku and Ochako could already see the damage done around the stores with a few pillars destroyed and some of the second-floor moments from collapsing. Bakugo, Ashido, Kirishima, Todoroki, and Iida could be seen either engaging the villain or trying to rescue the last of the civilians who were unable to evacuate the scene quickly enough. Ochako jumped into action stabilizing the structural integrity of the building with Todoroki while Iida ran around collecting civilians and safely removing them from the danger. Izuku jumped into the fight with Bakugo, Ashido, and Kirishima, watching as the villain created a translucent clock like portals before disappearing in them.

"Do we have any idea what his quirk is besides this disappearing act?" Izuku asked as he ran up next to Bakugo.

"Not yet, luckily no civilians have been caught in the crossfire yet, so there is no way of questioning them about it," Ashido answered as she placed cuffs on one of the unconscious assailants and Kirishima lifted him up.

Suddenly, clapping could be heard from above them on the second-floor balcony that Todoroki had just created support for. The heroes spun around to see the villain standing on the railing with a large toothy malicious smile on his grayish face. His short white hair stood on end like the man had battled with Kaminari at some point.

"What the fuck?" Bakugo shouted irritably. "The damn extra has already been up there before destroying the pillar below!"

The villain let out a mischievous laugh before responding, "You heroes aren't as smart as you like to think you are! But it's nice to see that the famous Symbol of Hope has finally decided to join us! I've been wondering when you'd grace us with your presence." The man cackled as he grabbed a hold of a post and swung around it, before bouncing off and into another clock portal.

"Structural integrity has been restored," Ochako and Todoroki called over their comms as they made their way back to the fight.

"All civilians have been accounted for and removed from danger," Iida reported as well.

"Kacchan, you said the villain had been in that position already. Does he have a pattern he appears to be following?" Izuku asked as his eyes darted around, calculating the next possible move.

Bakugo quickly began listing all the points of contact the man had been at and any repeated spots around the mall. Izuku listened carefully as his mind quickly began to form possible theories as to what the man's quirk could be. Iida hurriedly helped Ashido and Kirishima with escorting a few captured villains out of the mall while Izuku tried to form a plan that may work. Todoroki joined up with Bakugo, Izuku, and Ochako as a plan started to come together.

"What we can do is have Shouto ice down all the previous places the villain has been and throw him off balance when he returns to those places. Then Uravity can go in with her meteor shower from all the rubble along with your explosions Dynamight to disorient and even knock him out. I can run interference in case he is able to escape in any way," Izuku explained as everyone started to move into place with the plan.

"Nice plan, Hero Deku, but you're missing one thing..." a raspy voice whispered over Izuku's shoulder. "Your little pals didn't see all my previous moves before their arrival. This is for my husband, Kenji," the villain said as he slapped Izuku on the back.

"DEKU!" he heard his friends and wife yell as he suddenly felt a force pulling him from behind.

"The lovely part about my quirk, Hero Deku, is that I can make it apply as much force to pull anyone in and send them whenever I want," the villain gloated. "And with enough Trigger, who knows, you could land in prehistoric times."

The villain cackled as he moved around toward the front of Izuku. Without thinking, he sent out a blackwhip cord, wrapping it around the man's throat.

"Well, I'm not going alone if that's the case!" he growled as the force got stronger.

Izuku could see out of the corner of his eyes as Ochako sent out one of her cords to grab on to him and pull him away, but he could feel how much of a losing battle that was even with Kacchan's help. He shook his head at them with a sad smile in hopes they'd let him go so he could end this fight between just him and the villain. He doesn't know why the man has it out for him even with the minor name drop, but he didn't want his friends and wife getting pulled back with him wherever he went. The villain looked panicked as he realized what Izuku had planned and went to close his portal but wasn't fast enough as him and Izuku were pulled through. All Izuku could hope for was that his wife and friends were safe, before he collided with something hard and fell unconscious.

"Ooof!" Izuku huffed out as something heavy weight landed on him and was now awake.

His head pounded as he took in the soft brown hair tickling his nose and the empty field surrounded by trees swaying in the breeze. Children's laughter could be heard in the distance along with creaking of metal. A playground, his mind supplied. Without thinking, Izuku rubbed his face into the familiar brown hair, chuckling as his nose was tickled. There was a slight nip to the air which was odd considering it was just starting to warm up for them as they headed toward June. So where did this sudden cold snap come from?

He watched as the clouds sailed through the late afternoon sky before everything came back to him. With a start, Izuku jolted up, wrapping his arms around Ochako as he searched the area. They had landed in a field on the outskirts of a park, but he couldn’t locate where the villain had disappeared to. He glanced down at Ochako who had woken up when he sat up. Suddenly the throbbing in his head returned with a vengeance as his gaze stopped on another prone body. From the distance, he could tell it wasn’t the villain with how muscularly built this person was.

Izuku stood, pulling his wife with him as he went to inspect the other body. Upon seeing the ash-blonde spikey hair, he realized who had followed him along with Ochako. He jabbed his foot at Katsuki’s thigh to wake him up as he kept scanning the area while Ochako got her bearings. The slight rustle of a bush nearby caught his attention. Izuku quickly moved his dazed wife behind him along with his childhood friend’s prone figure. He watches as someone steps out of the bushes with a sway to their movements. The villain they had been fighting previously stood before him with crazed gleam to his eyes and cheshire grin plastered on his face. Quickly Izuku raised one arm as the gears on his suit whirred to life, preparing for an air force attack.

“That was a very smart and stupid move, Deku, but I guess it was something I should’ve expected from you after everything history has shown,” the villain chortled as he slowly approached the group.

Izuku could feel as Ochako rose behind him, but he placed his other arm out to keep her from moving forward.

“Check on, Kacchan. Make sure his vitals are fine. I’ll handle the villain,” he ordered quietly.

Ochako nodded her head and fell to her knees next to Katsuki. While she checked over him, Izuku moved toward the villain.

“Why are you doing this?” Izuku demanded as the villain slowly approached him.

“Why am I doing this, you ask?” he repeated back with a sneer. “Because of you, I lost my love, my Kenji! We didn’t know that villains were using our property for quirk trafficking, but you and those damn heroes just had to come in and destroy everything that we loved to and smear our names! Now my Kenji is gone because he couldn’t take the hate anymore,” the villain hissed as he began to move faster across the field at Izuku. “Because of you, he took his own life last month!”

The villain charged at Izuku while he was still processing what the man had told him. The quirk trafficking raid happened months ago, but he was only an analyst and intelligence hero on the case. The man came at him with a right hook and as Izuku went to block it, the man disappeared into a clock portal, reappearing on the other side of Katsuki and Ochako. Izuku turned to protect them when a beeping noise sounded around them. The man stopped abruptly and looked at a watch on his wrist. The device blinked causing the villain to grin maliciously.

“Do you know when we are?” he asked mischievously.

When? Izuku thought confused before understanding dawned on him. His face must’ve said it all as the villain continued.

“Yes… when you grabbed me, I had to stop my time jump sooner than I wanted which happen to land us 10 years in the past,” he explained while he dug in a pouch around his waist.

Ochako gasped sharply while she covered Katsuki protectively with her body. The man pulled out a metallic ball and tossed it in the air before catching it. Izuku prepared another air force strike, but the villain wagged his finger at him.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you…” he tossed the ball in the air again then caught it. “This is an explosive, small but powerful, and we’re about 100 meters from an active playground,” he smirked as he repeated the motions. “But here’s the thing… why settle for killing you when I can end the Symbol of Hope before he becomes one?” the villain asked before pressing a button on the metal ball causing it to activate and throwing it toward the playground. “Which will it be heroes? Me or the children?”

Izuku didn’t even pause long enough to think. As the villain darted off in one direction, Izuku activated the jets of his suit to catch the bomb. Once he caught the device, he could hear the small ticking noise it made as a form of count down speed up. He quickly grabbed it and turned to toss it away from the park, but before it got far enough, it exploded, throwing Izuku into the ground a bit of a way from Ochako and Katsuki. Izuku gasped as sharp pain shot through his back and the air was knocked out of his lungs.

Suddenly an alarm on Izuku’s suit started sounding loudly. His eyes flew open as he checked a screen on his wrist that showed an elevated heartrate before it flatlined. Izuku rolled over on to his stomach, ignoring the burning pain in his chest and dragged himself with his arms toward where he could see Ochako doing chest compressions on Katsuki. He didn’t notice the sound of approaching footsteps as he pulled himself to his knees. Fear coursed through him as he watched his wife work over his dying best friend, the only thought running through his mind: No… no… not again!

“Don’t move! I am pro hero Eraserhead. Who are you?” they heard a gruff, but familiar voice command.

Both Izuku and Ochako looked up to see Eraserhead, pre-war with both legs and eyes, glaring a quirk activated glare at them with his capture weapon levitating around his shoulders at the ready. Loud gasps could be heard from the few students gathered behind him as they stared at who they had believed to be villains.

“Please, help,” Izuku begged as tears began to build up in his eyes. “I can’t lose him again.”
