Chapter Text

Samuel Martinez Rossi, 13, living on his own after both of his parents died by getting hit by a truck on their way back home when he was only 6 years old, after that Samuel lived in many homes- well foster homes. However it seemed like no one wanted to keep him after figuring out what happened, most think it was bad luck and he was cursed. In the end, they would drop him back off at the same, old, smelly, orphanage. As time changed and he grew up, at 10, he decided to run away and so he did, he didn't stop, he just kept going with his little legs. After 2 hours of running, he was very far from the orphanage, just like how he wanted it to be. He was really alone now tho, so he start to walk around, trying to find a park, a home, even a little alleyway to rest, that was when everything changed. He was walking down a sidewalk, when someone bumped into him, someone taller and bigger than him.

"Oof!"

Samuel falls to the ground, grabbing his glasses before someone tries to steal them or break them. When he looks up, he sees a man.

"Oh my! Are you ok, I didn't see you! I'm so sorry."

The man reaches out one of his hand for Samuel to grab on to pull him up, so Samuel reaches for the man's hand, and the man helps him up

"Why, your so small! No wonder I couldn't see you. Say, what's your name?"

The man gives Samuel a question, he looks up, clearly nervous but shoves all of it down and replies with

"I-I'm S-Samuel, nice to meet you."

The man chuckles.

"Why, that's a wonderful name, I'm Mr. Richard, I work at a school."

Samuel's eyes lit up, since the orphanage he used to live didn't get a lot of money, him nor the other kids there could go to school, but the caretakers there or older kids would teach the young ones.

"Woahh, that's so cool!"

Samuel's little voice goes high pitch, Mr. Richard chuckles

"Wait, where are your parents? You shouldn't be here, alone."

Then Samuel's eyes look around, he has no one, he's alone.

"My p-parents....died when I w-was 6.."

Mr. Richard gasps, placing his hand where his mouth is

"O-oh my, I'm sorry Samuel, I didn't mean to bring that up, I'm sorry for your loss"

Mr. Richard puts his hand on Samuel's left shoulder and pats it

"Shouldn't you be in a orphanage or in a foster home?"

Samuel looks up at Mr. Richard, and answers

"Most f-foster homes d-don't like me, a-and I ran a-away from m-my or-orphanage.."

Samuel looks down again, feeling down and defeated. Mr. Richard sighs, but just then, he comes up with a bright idea

"Hey, what about I let you live in one of the dorms at my school?"

Samuel looks up, his head tilts, he doesn't know what dorms are

"W-what a-are dorms?"

"Dorms are like large rooms, students live in them while their away for boarding school, universities, or college. We have some in our school since our students are dealing with the same things you are dealing with too."

Samuel's eyes lit up again like a candle, there are people, in this world that are dealing with the same issues like him?

"C-could I s-stay in one of them?"

Samuel ask, hoping that Mr. Richard would let him, Mr. Richard smiles so widely, that it looks like a shape of a boat.

"Sure kid, you can stay in one of the dorms as long as you need to."

Samuel smiles very slightly. Soon, Mr. Richard takes Samuel to the school, and shows him the dorms and all the rules, then takes Samuel to his very own dorm, the room he would stay in for a while. This is going to be a big change that will soon also change his future.
