“Because—I can’t tell them about you,” Shane said, “I mean, not yet. It will help if they knew I was gay, I think.”
“This is what you want?”
“I want to do something,” Shane said quietly, “You left Boston.”
“Ah, so this is competition,” Ilya said, not a question.
He promised Ilya that they could "change the narrative" together. Ilya was keeping up his end of the plan: leaving Boston for Ottawa. And now it was Shane's turn. He was going to come out to his teammates in Montreal.
