Chapter Text
Introduction to the characters:
Finnick "Finn" Rowan
Age: 17 (nearly 18)
Pronouns: He/Him
Identity: Trans Man
Occupation: Competitive Figure Skater | Principal Ballet Student
Physicality: A shock of fire-red curls that never stay pinned back and eyes like a winter Atlantic—shifting between green and blue depending on the light. He has the deceptive physique of a dancer: lean and elegant, but with muscles like piano wire.
The Anchor: Theo, a cat who has seen more of Finnick’s tears than any human ever has. Theo is the only piece of "home" he took when the door finally slammed shut.
Malakai "Kai" Thorne
Age: 17
Pronouns: He/Him
Occupation: Defenseman (Hockey)
Physicality: Dark, heavy curls that usually smell like cold rink air and expensive shampoo. Deep brown eyes that see everything but reveal nothing. He is built broad—a literal shield for the people he loves.
The Personality:
The "Black Cat" of the Thorne family. Kai is a man of few words and high stakes. He doesn't do "gentle" with the world, but he is a soft place to land for Finnick. He provides the stability Finnick was denied, offering a quiet, fierce protection that doesn't demand anything in return. He is the person who keeps the world quiet so Finnick can finally hear himself think.
His four-year-old sister, Abby, is his weakness. Kai’s rugged "defensive" persona melts the second she asks him to play make-believe.
Abby Thorne (4): A chaotic, pint-sized mirror of her older brother. She is the household’s heartbeat and the first person to make Finnick feel like he belonged in a family without needing to "earn" it.
Arthur & Eleanor Rowan: The architects of Finnick’s ghosts. Their love was always conditional, and their transphobia was the final blade that severed the cord. They represent the "Before"—a life of performance, stifled identity, and the haunting fear that Finnick was never enough.
