Summary:

Today, my words pleaded to me, begging to be set free.

Work Text:

Today, my words pleaded to me, begging
for wings, that they may soar
from the shackles of rhyme schemes
that they may become brushes that dip
in the many colors of my emotions, and paint
pictures of hurt and healing and hell and heaven
as I explore the lived and un-lived experiences
of being human. And I said to my words,
yes, please,
be free.

Notes:

This poem is pretty much about my growing fatigue at writing poems that have rhyme schemes.

Thank you for reading! :D
