Chapter Text
When Alex woke up, the first thing that she noticed was that she was laying on the ground. The second thing she noticed was that it was nighttime. The third thing she noticed was the trees. She was surrounded by massive redwood trees, scaling high into the night sky.
Alex sits up and looks around. The only thing that see could see were the redwood trees. Not a damn thing else.
Alex stands up and looks down at herself, her light blue jeans had mud splattered around them. And her dark grey hoodie seemed to be intact, aside from a little mud.
Alex is now realizing that she has no idea how she got here. She searches her brain for information, and finds nothing. She has no idea who she is, where she came from, or what she is. The only thing she can remember is her first name: Alexandra. But she knows she likes to go by Alex.
Alex walks over to the nearest tree. It appears to be about 250 feet high and 20 feet wide. She stares up into its branches and finds nothing lying within them. So she picks a direction and starts walking.
~~~~~~~~~~
Alex isn’t sure how long she’s been walking for. Minutes? Hours? Days? She definitely feels like the time of day should be different, but it’s still appears to be the middle of the night.
There are still only redwoods and the grass underneath we her tennis shoes. She’s been walking at a semi slow pace, as if she was enjoying a walk in the park.
Alex continues to walk and eventually, her stomach rumbles. Considering that the only things that she’s seen are trees. She might stave out here. Then she hears something. A rustling sound behind the tree to her right.
Alex walks around the tree, and at first sees nothing, but then notices a small picnic basket sitting on the ground.
She opens the picnic basket and finds a peanut butter and jelly sandwich as well as and apple. As well as a bottle of water. She quickly scarfs down the food and drinks half of the water, putting the last half of the bottle in her hoodie pocket. Before continuing her walkAlex thought about how strange it was that she magically found food when she was hungry. Could it have been a coincidence? Or is there some other force at play here? Or perhaps she has some kind of magical power? No that would be ridiculous. Something had to have put that food there right?
Alex’s thoughts are interrupted by the sound of a twig snapping somewhere behind her. She whips around to find…
