Clive Rosfield Clutches So Hard In Dissidia Duellum That He May Have Possibly Brought Krile Back From Superhell (And Other Things Happen Too Though)

Summary:

Notes:

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. I no longer strictly play as Prompto. I play Clive too now (if you couldn't tell...)

Work Text:

Rikku (not to be confused with Riku Kingdomheart) was finally, actually in the game, and she was having a fun time looking around. It was her first time being in any Dissidia game, so she was very happy about that. She was getting acquainted with everybody, except for Terra, Iroha, and Kain, who got sent to superhell.

Or, that’s what Wol told everybody.

“Do NOT lose any more matches, guys.” Wol was saying, “Anyone who loses gets sent to superhell. Now, all your ranks went down, so party up with players in the chat to get it up faster.”

Rikku quickly turned to look at Daddy Clive, who was the person she spoke to the most, due to coming with him into the game. “Hey Clive!! Can I just call you Clive?”

“Normally I’d say no, but you’re sixteen so I won’t make you call me Daddy Clive.” Daddy Clive responded in a low and unintentionally sexy tone.

“Cool!” Rikku responded. “Let’s party up! I’m support and you’re melee, so… now all we need is a ranged!”

Daddy Clive nodded, and gestured to Rinoa. “What about her? Her range is greater than Prompto’s. And she has Angel Wing.”

Rikku agreed, and grabbed Rinoa.

“There’s no way this could possibly go wrong!!”

But it went so wrong.

A minute into the match, and Cloud2 was targeting Daddy Clive, using Omnislash every time Daddy Clive even went near. Zidane2 took Bravery from Daddy Clive right as he got to 9,999 and Daddy Clive died immediately. Plus, the ability cooldowns for Daddy Clive were so long, that when he finally got a Bravery burst, he couldn’t even do anything.

Rikku was stuck purifying crystals, of course, and Rinoa was nowhere to be seen. Thus led to Rikku, Rinoa, and Daddy Clive getting no hits on the Behemoth, while Cloud2, Zidane2, and Lightning2 already had it down to half its health.

“It’s hopeless…” Daddy Clive muttered, “I should just close the game so I don’t have to lose, and call it a crash. No… that’d make me too guilty about it. I need to accept my loss. You can’t win them all…”

And, of course, they lost.

“See you in superhell, everyone…” Daddy Clive said in a soft tone, before falling backwards below the floor.

To think that his first day in a Dissidia game would also be his last…

His back hit the concrete and he swore he almost broke his spine.

“No, no, no!” Said Wol, appearing out of nowhere. “YOU don’t get to go to superhell yet. You just got here, and everyone has good opinions on you because you’re hot, so nobody is critiquing your bad cooldown times or your useless special ability. You technically have no supersins to go there for.”

Of course, Daddy Clive thought, another time I am denied release from this eternal battle. But he got up anyway, and queued up a random ranked match.

“From Gold 3 to Silver 3… I have to get my rank back.” He said attractively.

“That’s the spirit, Daddy Clive! Now get out there and win at least one battle so that this fic can have at least one good moment!!!”

Daddy Clive was overcome with a new determination to win. He stepped into the battle with Wol and the spirited ghost of Krile, who was previously in Superhell, but now returned out of the pure determination that Daddy Clive was aflame with.

Everything was tense as everyone gave their introductions.

Daddy Clive ran straight past Crystal A, leaving that to Krile’s Spirit or Wol, and made for Crystal B to increase efficiency. He swiftly got that crystal taken down, and ran back to Crystal A because it was about to respawn. The boss came in, and Krile’s Spirit gifted Daddy Clive enough Bravery for his first Burst.

This would repeat for a long time.

Daddy Clive was so blinded by his determination that he didn’t notice that the other team was one single ability away from getting the boss before him and his team could. Panic and adrenaline overtook his determination, and he silently pleaded for Krile’s Spirit to gift him the 1,000 or so Bravery that he needed left to burst.

Time froze for a second.

The Bravery was granted.

Daddy Clive rushed towards the boss, using every one of his abilities in succession.

“I HAVE TO CLUTCH,” He yelled.

And they won.

Wol was extremely celebratory. Krile’s Spirit dissipated back into superhell. And Daddy Clive laid back down on the pavement. Not in defeat, because they had won. But he was exhausted.

He closed Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy with the final farewell of the day.

But He Would Be Back.
