Another day has passed by and Avery kept on begging Derek to watch a movie with him. At first he didn't want to as he wasn't really fan of movies, they were just made up scenarios that people paid to watch though Avery managed to trick him as books were something you paid for too, but was also made up so in the end he agreed.
That's how he found himself on the couch with Avery sitting near while trying to choose from one of the movies that were recommended.
"Hmm should we watch this one?", he exclaimed as he looked over to Derek.
On the screen was displayed some movie, but it said that it was a horror genre and from what he knew Avery hated those.
"Don't you hate horror genres?"
There was a quick pause before Avery spoke out.
"Nah, not anymore and I thought you might like it!", tone sounded of excidedly thought there was a hint of uncertainty as he lied about not being scared anymore.
"Well let it be then, we can stop if you get scared.
Quiet sight was let out from the slime as he put the movie to play. It started of casually, a crime scene and random people going missing.
With every thrilling scene though Avery scooted a tiny bit closer to Derek probably hoping that he didn't notice —he did, he didn't mind it.
After some time nothing was really happening and movie became slightly boring, but they spoke too soon as jumpscare appeared leaving poor slime jolting back in fear.
"Avery...?"
"M fine! Just... Unexpected.."
"Jumpscares are meant to be unexpected...?", there was no reply though, he knew Avery was ashamed that he failed to prove he's not scared.
Movie became more thrilling and exciting as more and more catastrophic events happened, he could sense Avery's feae quite obviously and right as he thought of that yet another jumpscares appeared which lead to Avery basically sticking to Derek.
He was scooted over to the maximum and he had his arms wrapped around Derek's waist.
"Oh... Sorry..", he slightly frowned as he realised he still isn't really good with horror.
Before Avery could let go, he wrapped his wing around Avery. For a second or two he felt how Avery froze in place, but then relax and he snuggled in closer.
With him being held closely to Derek he could feel sleep creeping in, the movie that played didn't seem to bother him anymore as he felt calm heartbeats of other, if he was relaxed why wouldn't he be too?
He didn't notice movie growing quieter as Derek lowered the volume so it wouldn't scare him again, he could just see random smudges movie on television to which he paid no attention to.
Sleep started to win the war while he thought of few things—he was warm, he was safe and most importantly, he was with him.
With those thoughts in his mind he snuggled in closer and let himself be slowly pulled to sleep.
