You're sick(ly unbearable)

Summary:

Morning greeted the World whit its first sunrays as day started to wake up. Avery too, started to rise from his bed like a vampire from his coffin.

He stretched and yawned, taking in a big breath before imideatly stopping.

Cold and dry air hit like a truck and his whole throat started to burn leading to him throwing himself back underneath the blankets to shield himself from disgusting, old, dry, cold air.

Once it felt easier to breathe he could only think of saying one thing.

"Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkkkk...."

OR

He's sick af and is just complaining lmao

Work Text:

Morning greeted the World whit its first sunrays as day started to wake up. Avery too, started to rise from his bed like a vampire from his coffin.

He stretched and yawned, taking in a big breath before imideatly stopping.

Cold and dry air hit like a truck and his whole throat started to burn leading to him throwing himself back underneath the blankets to shield himself from disgusting, old, dry, cold air.

Once it felt easier to breathe he could only think of saying one thing.

"Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkkkk...."

He thought that it was just a morning agony, but it's always the first stage: Denial.

Time passed by and he tried to get back to sleep, but no-no his throat demanded a coughing attack. Urge to cough was so extreme, but he knew damn well it wouldn't be just one cough and rather would probably make him feel dying is a better idea.

He lost the damn war.

The coughing started off small and weak, giving him time to breathe in before starting again. Then it started to last longer and give less time to breathe which is when the burning became stronger.

Now, in the last stage, he was probably fighting for his life and trying to not to suffocate while coughs kept appearing as soon as the last one stopped.

Once everything settled down he just groaned as he lost hope of having a good day, sickness was here and there was nothing he could do.

While he was coughing, he woke up somebody and that somebody knew damn well he will probably—no definitely just give up on his life and stay put in his bed like he's awaiting for his death.

Which is exactly the scene he found once he entered the room.

"You alright?", question lingered in the air while the dying child choose his words.

"NooOoO.... I'm DYING Der...", he coughed again before just letting out a sad groan of desparation for good, old days he had just yesterday when he was healthy.

Even though Avery couldn't see Derek he could feel his stare of dissapointment aimed straight at him.

"I'll go get you something for coughing then and get up beacuse you still need to eat something.", he just left before Avery could protest from getting up.

Once he finally got up after having another coughing fit, he took his blanket and threw himself on the couch. Soon enough Derek was back too with some pill and a glass of water.

Avery didn't think twice before just swallowing the pill dry and filling his mouth with water.

Filling his mouth beacuse it was warm water.
What a traitor.

Almost automatically he tried to spit it out, but covered his mouth with his hand in hopes to stop and immediately swallow.

"This was absolutely disgusting."

"It was warm water.", there was no response expect a look you'd see a toddler get when you told them they're in wrong. "You won't get cold water until you're healthy."

"I'm healthy excuse you, just beacuse my throat decided to say 'fuck you' is NOT my problem."

Sigh was let out as he spoke again, "Fine, no warm and plain water it is."

"THANK YOU. I was honestly go—"
"I'll go make you some tea then."

"WHAT—", he tried to speak out, but a choke started yet another coughing fit he just couldn't get out of.

In corner of his sight he could see Derek just waiting for fit to stop so once it did he tried to speak out, but Avery was faster.

"Tea is just WARM WATER with taste, that's awful."

He saw Derek raising an eyebrow while staring at him.

"Don't you like soup?"

Avery looked at him in confusion, what kind of change in topic is THAT?

"I- Yeah I do?"

"And how do you make soup?", questions seemed a bit too genuen.

"Well, don't you have infinite—"
"Just answer."

"Whatever.. you take carrots and onion or whatever you like to add in and cut them. Then you take a pot and fill it with hot water and put it on stove and... you take vegetables... and spices...... and you put it in the pot..........."

"Oh...."

Realisation hit like a truck and he didn't like that at all.

"Yeah.."

He was left alone in the living room as other went to bring him some sugar and tea. It didn't take too much time so a cup of tea and a sugar jar were now put on the table next to the sofa.

Jar was opened and he added one spoon of sugar, then another... then another.

"Alright Avery... that's.. that's enough."

Then guess what, he added another one.

"Avery."

To his name he looked straight to Derek's eyes, had most intense game of staring whit Derek giving a 'don't you dare idiot.' stare while Avery gave 'watch me.'

Before Derek could reach him—or the jar, he took it and just added a whole hill of sugar to his tea.

"AVERY, NO?!", it was too late.

The big hill of sugar slowly descended before it started to look like a slushie.

"Oh. My. Dear. God."

Awe am I that dear to y—

"NO."

When he looked back at Avery he saw him trying to drink the so called 'tea', but due to the a lot of sugar most of it just sticked to the cup, leaving a small part of it to drain down the cup.

Could this become more dissapointing?

Well his answer was soon answer when he heard Avery speak.

"Kinda bitter if you ask me."

He was going to cry.

"That is tea flavoured sugar."

"Yeah and tea is bitter, if it's tea flavoured, then it's bitter."

"You need it for your.. health? But I don't think it's healthy no more."

"It's healthy for my sanity."

Yeah he was over with it.
(And so Am I, peace out✌️)

Notes:

I wonder who inspired me to make Avery hate tea
Hmmmm
Hmmmmm
--+--+--+--+
Ok but if I have a cup of tea I'd add like 3 spoons of sugar and sometimes still find it bitter
