Summary
This was a school assignment I originally wrote in October/November of 2024. It was for a creative writing, gothic romanticism piece so keep that in mind while reading.

But the police don't understand Deadwood— not in its entirety— and, most importantly, they don't understand William.
So, everything she needs to find him is spread across her pine floorboards. Every map of the town and the surrounding area she could find. A guide titled 'The Deadly Creatures of Deadwood'. Her fliphone, adorned with a beaded wolf charm, opened on the last message he sent her: 'DONT TELL ANY1', then radio silence. The last few supplies: a flashlight, a notebook and HB pencil, and a digicam.
Norah slings a tote bag around their shoulder, hand trembling in the grip, and wonders how they're going to make their escape.

The idea really originated from Isaac, the idea of going blindfolded, so blind, duct taped over the mouth, so mute and wearing noise cancelling headphones— or blasting music, so dead, whilst out exploring the banded blown up building or— church, where they destroyed the keepsake and strange bug monster.

Summary
After the world ended, life found a new normal. More bleak, a little lonelier, a day cycle of survival and nothing else. Foolish had been fine with that, until he crossed paths with a stranger he didn't understand. And maybe it had been his desperation for connection, or just sheer curiosity, but he couldn't walk away after.
Time passed together, until a new normal was found by each other's side.
