Summary
When ICE agents arrest Jesse Van Horn during a chaotic Fourth of July shift, Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch is left to hold their world together alone.
What begins as a nightmare of detention, bruises, and unanswered messages becomes a year of unexpected family: an abandoned baby girl they bring home, a teenage son who appears on their doorstep in the middle of the night, and twin daughters growing under Robby’s heart.
