The ghost jogs over to meet him, already calling, “hey, are you alright?”
Dash nods hastily, opening his arms as if for inspection and quickly dropping them again. “Not a scratch. That was, uh- that was a good fight.”
“Thanks,” Phantom accepts tentatively. He’s not looking too much worse for wear this time; the tears in his suit are already closing up, and the minimal bleeding under them is slowing to a trickle. His knuckles are flushed green with use, but his face is mostly clean. “I just wanted to be sure you got away okay.”
“Yeah, I’m- I’m alright,” he repeats. “How are you?”
Danny laughs and shakes his head, the bright sound out of place in the darkening twilight and the air still smelling of ozone and ectoplasm. “I’m fine, Dash.”
Then he steps back, already trading his legs for a tail and beginning to float away. “Stay safe out there,” he pronounces, just like last time. And with that he’s gone, fading into the distance faster than Dash can track.
Everyone asks who is Phantom, no one asks how is Phantom.
