Teenage Mutant Devil Sticks

Summary:

Donnie loses his new toy. Leo learns a new joke.

Or: I basically took a clip from Nirvana the Band the Show and made it a Disaster Twins exchange (with some changes). Almost an incorrect quote more than anything but also different.

Rated T for language just to be safe. They just say "ass" a couple times, that's about it.

Bit over 100 words (around 120, in fact) but screw it we ball.

If you don't know what devil sticks are, they're a set of sticks you use for a sort of juggling, where you hold two smaller sticks and use them to manoeuver at least one larger stick. Read about 'em on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil_sticks

Work Text:

"Hey Donnie," Leo asks as he waltzes into the softshell's lab. "Can I use those 'devil sticks' you found yesterday?"

"No."

Leo stops cold at that.

"Whaddaya mean, 'no'?"

"I seem to have lost them."

"You lost them how? Up your ass?!"

Donnie's silent for a moment. But then he chuckles, involuntarily, just a little.

Again, this surprises Leo enough to drop his facade.

"...is that really funny?" he asks. "Felt like it was so stupid to say."

"Yes, it was pretty funny." Donnie replies, before adding under his breath, "...unfortunately."

"Really?" Leo responds. "I, Leo, got Dontron laughin'?"

"Groan" is Donnie's simple response.

Leo turns and saunters away, speaking to himself. "Hmm. Noted! Use 'up your ass' as a punchline."

I might post an expanded version of this at some point. I was really rushing to cram this within the final couple hours of the scavenger hunt when I first posted this and didn't realize 100 words would be as restrictive as it was (and I didn't even trim down to that many 😭).
