    Dazai had been sent to Gotham and Mori’s orders, though for once, he found himself not entirely displeased with the assignment. Gotham suited him in a way few cities ever could. It was dark, melancholic, endlessly haunted. Beautiful, really. A city forever balancing itself on the edge, yet somehow refusing to die.
    He like that about it.
    What he didn’t like, however, were Gotham’s self-righteous vigilantes trailing after him. Not because they wanted him gone. That’d he would’ve understood. But for reasons entirely beyond his comprehension, they seemed concerned about him.
