Summary
On the frost-covered ridges of Xianzhou Luofu's outer peaks, Dan Heng stumbles upon a man half-buried in the snow. He is Ren — a fugitive living under different names, his body cursed to survive what should kill him, hunted across mountain passes by enemies he will not name.
Dan Heng is an orphan determined to hold onto the one thing his parents left behind: the house beneath the ridge, and his right to live in it alone, on his own terms.
When a greedy uncle arrives at the door threatening to seize the property, Dan Heng does the only thing that will end it. He takes the stranger's shoulder and calls him husband.
The stranger, without missing a beat, takes his hand and calls it home.
