Notes:

As a lover of Baelor "breakmyback" Targaryen, i had to write this fanfic. I apologise for any wrong spellings (english is not my first language).
I hope you enjoy this story as i did in my late night fake scenarios.♥️
Ps: I'm still devastated about my husband Baelor's death (I'm mentally still in mourning).🫠😭

(Baelor targaryen x female knight)
Set before and during A knight of the seven kingdoms.
This is a fan-fiction. All characters except the ones I've created belong to George.R.R.Martin

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

//I went with a new house that is not part of the original story..House Harverin is a noble house from Riverlands sworn to House Tully.//

DREAMS AND REALITY

"She never wanted a crown, she preferred a sword."

Lyanna Harverin was not born into songs. She was born into silence...the kind that clung to the banks of slow moving rivers, where mist rose each morning and swallowed the world whole. House Harverin's lands were not grand, nor rich, nor particularly noteworthy. Harverin Keep did not glitter like the other castles. Their keep stood low and stubborn against the wind, its stones worn smooth by time and flood alike. It was a place where survival mattered more than legacy.

And Lyanna learned that early.

Lyanna Harverin never acted ladylike. Even when everybody around judged her for it. She was the eldest daughter of Lord Anthony Harverin . Born with nobility, but she always preferred simple life. She wished to be a knight. Her younger brother Aaeron, The first born son of Lord Anthony Harverin was being trained to be an exceptional knight. Even though Lyanna wished to be a knight, her father wanted her to behave like a lady.

Lord Harverin was a man bound by tradition, shaped by years of war and duty to House Tully. And while his daughter wanted to do great things with her sword, He saw her as an object for political marriage. He believed that a lady should not weild a sword. He pushed his son to be a knight at young age even though his daughter wanted that more than anything in this realm.

Her Mother Lady Alyssa died of a terrible accident while riding. Lyanna loved her mother. Her mother was the only one that understood her. Her mother used to say she had come into the world quietly—no wailing, no fuss, just wide, watchful eyes taking everything in. "A river child," she called her. Calm on the surface, with something deeper beneath.

Lyanna's childhood was not cruel but it was not soft either. While other noble girls learned embroidery and courtly manners, Lyanna wandered the riverbanks, her boots sinking into mud, her hands roughened by reeds and rope. She learned how to read the current, how to tell when the waters would rise, how to move quietly through marsh and shadow.

And more importantly...

She learned how to endure.

The first time she held a sword, she was eight years old. It was too heavy. The grip too wide for her small hands. One of the guards laughed when she nearly dropped it. She didn't give up. She simply picked it up.

Again. And again. And again. Until the laughter stopped.

She sparred with soldiers who went easy on her at first. She learned quickly that mercy in a fight was an insult, not a kindness. So she adapted. Became faster. Sharper. Harder to predict.

By ten, she could disarm a careless opponent. By twelve, no one called her careless.

When she came of age, her father forbid her of touching a sword. He started looking for marriage alliances for her. Lyanna felt stripped away of her freedom. She rebelled against her father and Lord Harverin thought with time she would understand. This man was her father, no matter the circumstances he will always be the first man she ever loved.

And now her father has chosen to remarry.

He had loved his wife and taken a fair share of mourning. But with Lyanna like this.. he thought it might be better if she were to be raised by a woman. His son was not of age. He wanted a lady to run his house. All the arrangements for the marriage has been done. The ceremony would take place in two nights. All lords and ladies of noble houses were on their way for the celebration. Her father was a kind and honourable man who befriended many. Lyanna did not want to be any part of this. She did not wish to replace her mother. But nothing can be done. Her father has chosen his wife but she would not let him make her own life's decisions. She wished to escape, but the choice was not easy to make.

Lyanna Harverin was caught between what she was meant to be...

And what she was willing to become.
