Seokmin was five when he asked his parents for a cat, as an only child his parents was supportive of his decision and was finally glad that he’s seeking companion, even though in the form of a pet.
When the said family arrived at the pet center, seokmin immediately felt off, his skin was itchy, and everything felt wrong. But his resolve for wanting a cat was stronger than anything. He was excitedly running towards the cat section pointing and yapping random things about cats
“Mommy did you know cats are said to have 9 lives daw! They have many lives, I want din!” He said while passing through section and sections of other pets.
Finally he arrived, but at that moment, he felt nauseated, he felt even worse than he did when he came inside the pet shop.
But seokmin forced himself, he was pointing to a ragdoll when suddenly he started hyperventilating, and he finds himself hard to breathe.
He collapsed in pain as he mumble “Mommy, daddy I-i c-can’t hinga”
His parents were quick to take his side. His mother was clutching him tightly while his father is frantically calling for a staff and an ambulance
“OH MY GOD, RUEL CALL THE AMBULANCE, darling, mommy is here everything is going to be alright okay?”
Was the last thing he heard before everything went black.
Next thing he knew he woke up to the smell of disinfectant and white colored room
“m-mommy?” His voice hoarse and dry
“oh dear, sawakas at gising kana, are you feeling better?”
His mom asked while handing him a glass of water. He was drinking when his father broke a news that broke his heart.
“Baby, I’m sorry to say this pero you can’t adopt a cat”
“huh?! Why not po?? I swear I’ll take care of it naman!” His tears threatening to spill from his eyes
“Allergic ka sa cats, baby” he quickly explained trying to make his son calm
“Allergic? Daddy what’s that?”
“It means being near with cats can seriously harm you”
seokmin couldn’t help but sob uncontrollably, I mean he’s just a kid that barely knows what an allergy means and suddenly he couldn’t get the one thing he wanted badly.
Ever since that day, everytime he sees a cat or cat videos he becomes emotional—in his point of view cats are one of the greatest invention, they’re soft, cute and most of all he loves their unpredictable personality.
For others it might seem like a small thing but for seokmin it was everything, he knows all about them, I’m pretty sure if you ask him anything cat related he would answer it in a heartbeat.

Seokmin’s class just ended and he’s painstakingly waiting for the rain to stop, just his luck that of all of the days he forgot to bring an umbrella it rained. Don’t get him wrong Seokmin loves the rain but the idea of him coming home wet wasn’t exactly ideal, and even worse he couldn’t book a grab, yep just his luck.
A few minutes later his savior finally arrived “Jeonghan huhu I love you” he said repeatedly when jeonghan handed him an extra umbrella
“seok are you sure ayaw mo sumabay sa’kin? I’m using my motor, don’t worry hindi naman ako gago mag patakbo”
As much as seokmin wants to say yes he’s afraid of riding motorcycles
“it’s really ok! I don’t think I can conquer my fear of motorcycles right now, but thank you sa umbrella! Hulog ka ng langit”
“tsk, angel kasi ako”
“wag na wag na, but anyways mag ingat you!!!”
As soon as he said that jeonghan waved his hand and left, it was raining but not that hard so he can atleast compromise.
He was walking down the alley when he saw something that broke his heart. It was a cat—an injured one and the rain is pouring. It was a Maine Coon, his fur soaking wet with rain. He tried to look for people that he may ask for help but to his demise there was no one. Seokmin is thinking should he risk his life and save the cat or leave it and wait for help? We all know there’s not a lifetime wherein seokmin would choose the latter.
“Should I make ligtas sa cat ba? But I’m allergic to it. Pero kawawa yung cat it’s already injured tapos it’s raining pa”
Before seokmin realised it he was already walking forward to the cat he cursed in his mind and decided that he’ll deal with his parents nagging later, atleast he would save a life.
Seokmin slowly approached the cat as the cat is very wary, it might be injured but it seems that the cat doesn’t trust humans that much, seokmin was wondering why he’s not itching even though he’s literally inches away from the feline.
He calmly asked the cat “hi, I’ll take to the vet so please don’t scratch nor bite me. I’m a good person! I promise huhu”
the cat seemed to understand what he’s saying as the feline titled its head and let out a small “meow”
“okay, I’ll take you now” he cautiously picked up the cat as his injuries might get worse.
“Omg omg I’m not breaking in rashes and having a hard time breathing, am I okay now? But baka dahil sa rain kaya it’s like this” he thought while carrying the cat.
Fortunately he got inside a taxi and quickly ordered the driver to go to a vet as the cat’s condition is getting worse every second that passed.
When the duo arrived at the vet, seokmin immediately called for assistance and thankfully a veterinarian assessed the cats injuries. The vet was about to touch the feline when he suddenly let out a loud hiss
“Kitty, let doc help you na, he won’t cause harm sa’yo” seokmin said panic evident in his voice.
The cat rolled its eyes and meowed softly, the assistant assisted seokmin to come out so that the doctor can proceed with their treatment.
After a few hours later the doctor finally allowed seokmin to go inside the room, he was looking at the cat while the doctor is stating the condition the cat gone through.
“Examination revealed a fracture on the left hind leg, accompanied by swelling and pain upon movement. Multiple gash wounds were also observed along the lower abdominal area, with mild bleeding and tissue exposure.”
“Oh god”
“Is this your cat?”
“Hindi po, I saw the cat sa streets ng school tapos it was raining pa so I decided to take him here”
“If ever you’re going to adopt him, please take note to look after the cat as its condition is stabilized but it will take time for the bone fracture to heal”
“Okay, thank you po for your help” he replied
He was petting the cat when his phone rang
“Seok, darling asaan kana? It’s quite late tapos umuulan pa, sabi sa’yo dapat nagpasundo kana kay kuya Robert”
“Hi mommy! Uhm I’m here at the vet ngayun”
“Vet??? What happened?”
“Ano kasi… I may or may not have brought a cat sa vet”
“A CAT?? You know na allergic ka sa cats seok. How are you? Are you breaking out in rashes ba? Send me your location pupunta kami ni daddy mo d’yan”
“The thing is I don’t I’m allergic to cats anymore”
“What?”
“Kasi I didn’t react at all kanina kahit na im carrying the cat”
“We can’t be so sure of that seok, you can hyperventilate kapag naka langhap ka ng cat fur, I know may reason pero you should think about your safety”
“Sorry mommy”
Seokmin ended the call a few minutes later, he’s now waiting for his parents to come and fetch him. The cat is under anesthesia so it’s still dead asleep.
A few minutes later his parents came rushing in, they quickly assessed the situation, the situation wherein seokmin was petting a cat.
“Oh my goodness, stop petting the cat seok”
“I’m okay naman?”
“Baby, let’s get you checked up first ok?”

Seokmin has arrived in his condo after a series of test was completed, he’s still allergic to cats but when he got near the cat he saved, it seems like he isn’t allergic at all. The doctors couldn’t explain to as why it’s like that but for seokmin this could only mean one thing he can have his own cat now.
It took some time pursuing his parents to agree on him keeping the cat but since seokmin is doing well, they couldn’t exactly argue with his wishes.
“Hi kitty!!!” “This is your home now”
Seokmin was talking to the cat when he realized he needs to name it
“Kitty… what name would you like to have?”
Seokmin asked
The cat tilted its head in acknowledgment, like he can understand the owner
“What about Lucio ?” The feline hissed at that
“Oh you don’t like it?”
“Ayaw mooo?? Then shua?”
“You know Joshua from Seventeen? He’s my bias! I think it would be cute if ipapangalan kita after him no?”
The cat purred at his statement
“Oh! You like it!”
