Chapter Text
Tommy Innit was once again bored.
Well, this monotony was bound to get boring eventually for anyone. Come on.
Every day for the past… however many years he’s been trapped in this lab it’s been the same thing day in day out. Wake up and wait a while, leave cell, take meds, do tests and stupid shit, go back to cell, get food, and go to sleep.
They seriously need to change stuff up. Tommy could only stare at the blank, white, concrete walls of his ‘room’ for so long till he went insane…
At the moment, Tommy was lying down on the cold, hard, floor of his room and staring up at the flickering fluorescent light above him—just waited boredly till lights out started or someone would come into his cell to do something. Tommy's own hands beneath his head his golden curls entwined with his nimble fingers. Honestly, his hands are a better pillow than his bed which Tommy was 99% sure was filled with the same concrete making the floor in his mattress.
Ever since the many months or however long it has been since Tommy was basically kidnapped by his foster ‘parents’—he had been stuck here. Rude. His weird scienc-ey abductors could at least give him entertainment, but normally he was stuck with snapping words, pointy medical equipment, and weird-champ experiments or whatever.
They really needed to learn some manners.
The quiet hiss of the door of his cell opening finally drew Tommys bright blue eyes from the ceiling.
A scowling and frankly unimpressed looking scientist accompanied by a guard entered his room. The scientist already barking orders and Tommy begrudgingly following them—not without an unhealthy about of cussing them and their mothers out in his thoughts—as Tommy was half walked-half dragged out of his cell. The halls were just as white and dull as Tommys cell, but with the addition of substantially more security cameras and a scientist or guard looking at Tommy with nothing but disgust—even though Tommy is a Big Man and is NOT disgusting!
… Jerks
Anyways. Like always, Tommy was frog marched down identical halls and staircases, peering slightly into other cells as he walked since Tommy was a big man and not a peeping tom! But anyways… Tommy could only get a few glances at other cells before getting yanked along. One cell had a bunch of spider webs in it (creepy) and was weirdly dark. Another seemed to just be a wall of running steaming hot water that smelled like the ocean or something. The next one had red smudged and splattered on the walls like someone had at it with a shit ton of scarlet paint and a bad mood.
As he was walked past one of the cells Tommy could hear something like bird calls.
Tommy stopped for a bit—it wasn’t even that long—since he could swear who ever in that cell had approached the observation window. Tommy only got to see a pair of blue eyes that seemed too knowing in his opinion and 2 black masses before he got pulled along. The scientist was now scowling at him, but that’s alright; Tommy can scowl back at them just as hard.
It took only a few more minutes of mindless walking until they stopped at a door, the scientist scanning their keycard. Eyeing the keycard, Tommy made himself mental note on how he should make sure to steal one to help him escape one day. The door opened and revealed a dull concrete room with too many cameras and lights in it, kind of like the interrogation rooms you see in cop shows. Tommy was then sat down promptly in a steel chair in front of a bare metal desk. Welp; here comes question time.
“Have you been feeling different any time between now and last time you were in this room?” The scientist asked bluntly; clearly not enjoying having to talk to Tommy or even being near him.
“Nah.” Tommy replied plainly, already bored and sick of all the scientists and doctors used with him to seem smarter and more prestigious than they were.
“Have you been feeling any weights or changes on your upper or lower back, head, hands, and or teeth?” The scientist continued.
“Only the emotional weight of my soul from all the trauma I've gotten being in this shithole.” Tommy joked with a confident smirk. The scientist was not as amused or satisfied with Tommy's joke as he was as they ignored it and just scowled at him.
“Have you been craving meat, blood, or violence recently?”
Wow. Weird questions once again. What a shocker.
“No.” Replied Tommy boredly since they always asked him that question and it was weird-champ.
“Have you been purposely avoiding and or not consuming your medication when told to recently?”
“Can’t really with everyone watching me like a hawk to make sure I do.” Another amazing joke from Tommy Innit falling flat because these geeks can’t appreciate actual humor if it slapped them in the face…
"Have you been feeling any sensation or connection towards the acts or the ideation of violence and or blood?"
"Nope. Its almost like I might be vegan or something. I should get that checked out by a real doctor!"
“That will be all of the questions.” The scientist says, looking over to the guard, “Watch the brat. I need to go get his meds.” Then they promptly left, leaving Tommy alone with the guard and the unbearable silence.
Yeah, this got boring real quick. Tommy could basically feel the scowl on the guard's face from behind their visor.
“So… You guard here often?” Tommy asked, trying to start some small talk since this was beyond boring and the tension in the atmosphere was unbearable.
Tommy was met with silence, so he didn’t try again and waited till the asshole in the doctor's coat came back with his meds.
After Prime knows how long, the scientist FINALLY came back to save— (not really)—Tommy from this boring and bland silence, but Tommy only got was just the scientist taking off the white cap of the pill bottle and putting one red and white pill in front of Tommy with no water. Assholes. But Tommy was a big man; big men didn’t complain so he just took it and swallowed it dry like the big man he was.
(Like always it still tasted like shit and did absolutely nothing.)
With that out of the way; after the scientist made sure Tommy had taken the pill they gestured to the guard. The guard made him stand up as Tommy was frog-marched out of the room and back through the sterile white halls. Soon after, he was shoved into a room with a bunch of exercise equipment—the guard remained at the now closed entrance of the room and the scientist was standing in the observation room. Hell yeah!
Exercise time was Tommy's favourite test since he could just play around; even if the scientists normally yelled at him to do the instructed exercise before he could have some real fun. Determined, Tommy quickly walked over to the balance beam since he wanted to do a handstand on it, even though Tommy wasn’t very good at handstands, he was sure he could do it- The beep of a pager from the guard and scientist quickly interrupted Tommys thoughts.
The guard seemed to quickly excuse themself as they left the observation room, they seemed… Panicked? Nah, they were just intimidated by Tommy's amazing and terrifying presence and left because of it!... Yeah, that was it.
Right?
The scientist seemed a bit pale as he quickly opened the door of the exercise room and frog-marched Tommy without a word out of the room. Tommy opened his mouth to protest since he didn’t want to have to miss out on exercise time; but the paleness on the scientist's face and their clear anxiety made Tommy stop.
Wordlessly, Tommy was escorted back to his cell, but the path they took was different than normal. Tommy would swear he could hear something going on deeper in the facility—but before Tommy could ask any questions the door of his cell closed behind him. Currently locked up in his cell once again Tommy sighed and walked over to his bed, flopping down onto his flimsy and thin mattress. Yep, still just as concrete as ever. He closed his eyes since he felt a weird nagging within him which he decidedly ignores.
After a few minutes Tommy finally fell asleep and gets a blissful unconsciousness before being woken with a jolt. Alarms blaring as Tommy's room was a deep crimson red from the now low red lights. Tommy looked around confusedly as he immediately stands up, confused, worried and- and… NOT scared! But the unintelligible automatic voice over the intercom was not helping him right now—rattling on about ‘this is not a drill-’ and ‘Subjects: L04-273 or Crow Father, L05-660 or Blood God, L04-851 or Spider Bite have breached-’ and many other names and subject codenames Tommy couldn’t recognize.
Tommy's head was spinning… 'Crow Father', 'Blood God', 'Spider Bite'? Who—or what—the hell were they?! Tommy scrambled over to the large white metal door of his room as he pressed his ear against it; the door was too thick for Tommy to be able to understand much about what was going on outside, but he could hear distant muffled noises. Then, one of the noises seemed to be getting... Closer...?
The slowly growing noise was slow rhythmic thumping, basically the whole room trembled slightly each time the thump occurred. Tommy's head was pressed against the cell door as he strained to hear what was going on outside and Tommy was not shaking- that was just the room shaking! Tommy was so focused on deciphering the noise he had not noticed the growing cracks on his roof…
Slowly backing away from the thick metal door, Tommy was now standing in the middle of the cell, his wide blue eyes locked on the door before a small stone fell on his head? That’s weird, rocks don’t fall from roofs- Tommy could feel a sharp pain as a few heavy somethings fell on top of him, crushing him as everything cut to black. The emergency sirens wailed throughout the facility as the room was still bathed in red, the thumping only growing louder as it shook Tommy to his own frail bones before everything finally went still and quiet.
This is a problem for future Tommy. Not current Tommy. (If he survives this.)
