Kiss of Devotion and Death

Summary:

What if Poison Ivy had managed to steal a kiss from the Caped Crusaders during the confrontation in Freezes lair?

(similar to my other one shot, but different)

Notes:

I wanted to write this, almost just copy pasted everything ngl.
Let me know if there's any other Poison Ivy like one shots you'd wanna see

Work Text:

The cold was more than just a temperature in the Snowy’s Ice Cream factory; it was a physical weight, a suffocating blanket of frost and machinery. Batman and Robin moved through the industrial labyrinth, their boots clanging against the metallic gratings of the elevated walkways. The air smelled of sugar and ammonia, a sickly-sweet combination that signalled the presence of Mr. Freeze’s lair.

"No beauty," Batman pointed out, the two following a trail of pheromones like fish to bait.

On the other end of a walkway appeared a mountain of misshapen muscle, clad in a luchador-style mask that hissed with every breath. Tubes filled with glowing green venom snaked from a pump on his back directly into the base of his skull. This was Ivy’s personal enforcer, Bane.

Robin didn't hesitate. "Just the beast!" he shouted, lunging forward with the impulsive energy that always made Batman’s jaw tighten.

The Boy Wonder landed a flurry of kicks against the giant’s chest, but it was like striking a stone wall. Bane didn't even flinch. With a roar of mindless rage, the giant caught Robin mid-air and hurled him across the platform. Robin crashed into a stack of sacks, his body disappearing into a cloud of flour and dust.

Batman stepped into the fray, his movements a calculated contrast to Robin’s frenetic energy. He landed a solid strike to Bane’s masked face, then a sweeping kick to the back of the giant’s knee. Bane staggered, but only for a moment.

As the fight raged on the upper levels, Robin scrambled to his feet, only to find himself cornered by a different kind of danger.

"Hey there, pretty birdie," a voice purred.

Green.

Beautiful.

Dangerous.

Poison Ivy emerged gracefully through the drifting frost like a living piece of forbidden temptation. Her long red hair cascaded over the vivid green curves of her bodysuit, the material shimmering faintly beneath the cold industrial lighting. Delicate vines wrapped around her arms and waist like living jewelry, and every movement she made seemed impossibly smooth, almost hypnotic.

Poison Ivy stepped out from behind a massive vat of strawberry syrup. She was a vision of lethal elegance, her hair a vibrant, unnatural crimson that seemed to pulse with a life of its own. Her suit was a second skin of emerald green, shimmering like the leaves of a tropical predator.

Robin stared, his breath hitching. "Give yourself up. If you surrender..."

"To you?" Ivy interrupted, her voice a velvet caress. She leaned in close, puckered her lips and blew a cloud of shimmering, violet dust into his face. The scent of jasmine and honeysuckle suddenly overwhelming the factory’s chemical stench.

"Polly want a kiss?" she whispered.

Robin’s eyes glazed over. The world seemed to tilt, the harsh industrial lights softening into a warm, inviting glow.

Before he could respond, Batman swung down from the rafters, his cape billowing like the wings of a predatory bird. He collided with Bane, the two of them crashing into a pile of sacks near Ivy. The distraction broke the spell on Robin just long enough for Batman to regain his footing, but Bane was relentless. The giant grabbed Batman by the throat, hoisting him into the air with one hand. Bane slammed Batman down onto a pile of soft sacks, the Dark Knight’s breath escaping in a sharp grunt.

Before he could recover, Ivy was there. She didn't just stand over him; she moved with the predatory grace of a panther, straddling his chest. The weight of her body was a sudden, intoxicating pressure against his tactical armor.

Ivy watched the struggle with a sadistic glint in her eyes. "There’s something about an anatomically correct rubber suit that puts fire in a girl’s lips," she mused, her gaze drifting over Batman’s struggling form.

"Why are all the gorgeous ones homicidal maniacs? Is it me?" Batman gasped, his hand reaching for his utility belt, but his fingers felt heavy, uncooperative.

Ivy leaned down, her face inches from his. The pheromones were thick now, a physical presence that seeped through the mesh of his cowl.

Batman looked up at her. Usually, he saw a criminal, a botanical terrorist. But now, under the influence of the spores, he saw something else. He saw the curve of her lips, the fire in her hair and a promise.

"Enough sweet talk" she whispered, her voice dropping to a seductive crawl, her gloved fingers tracing the line of his jaw. She leaned down, her face inches from his. The pheromones were thick now, a physical presence.

She leaned closer, her breath warm against his skin. "You spend so much time in the dark, Batman. Wouldn't you like to see the garden?"

Batman’s internal alarms were screaming, but they sounded far away, like a siren heard underwater. He looked at her, his resistance crumbling. The logic of the Bat was being overwritten by the primal urge of the man.

"Yes," he whispered, a word he never thought he’d say to her.

He reached up, his gloved hands grasping her waist, pulling her down. Ivy smiled, a triumphant, jagged expression, and pressed her lips firmly against his.

It was a kiss of fire and ice. For a moment, the world ceased to exist. There was no Gotham, no frozen factory. There was only the taste of nectar and the sensation of her body against his. The kiss was searing, a moment of seemingly pure connection, Ivy let a small moan. Finding pleasure in achieving the thing that had escaped her.

But then, the fire turned to acid.

Ivy pulled away, a strand of saliva connecting them for a fleeting second. She stood up, smoothing her suit, looking down at him with a cold, clinical detachment.

Batman tried to speak, but his throat had constricted. He reached for his neck, his fingers clawing at the rubber. Around his lips, the skin began to darken, the veins bulging and turning a sickly, vibrant green. The toxin, concentrated essence of some of the most lethal flora on Earth was racing through his bloodstream.

His heart gave a final, erratic thud. His eyes, usually sharp and calculating, glazed over, staring vacantly at the ceiling of the factory. His body went limp, the Legendary Dark Knight reduced to a cooling corpse on a pile of ice cream ingredients.

"A shame," Ivy remarked, not looking back, part of her thought that maybe the Caped Crusader may have been an excellent test subject for more Bane experiments. But why take the risk? One giant hulking idiot was enough.

On the other side of the vats, Robin was still struggling with Bane. The giant had him pinned against a cooling pipe, his massive hands squeezing the air out of the boy's lungs.

"Let... go..." Robin wheezed, kicking fruitlessly at Bane’s shins.

Bane growled, a low vibration that rattled Robin’s teeth. With a sudden, casual cruelty, Bane swung his arm, a backhand blow that sent Robin staggering backward. The Boy Wonder stumbled, his head spinning, and fell right into the waiting arms of Poison Ivy.

She caught him with a mock-tenderness, her hands resting on his shoulders.

"Stop," she whispered, mimicking the tone of a worried lover. "Don't fight him, little bird."

Robin eyes scanned around, not knowing where Bruce had gone. Part of him alarmed that his partner would leave him to fight such a battle by himself. But part of him was also glad that he was here, alone, with Ivy.

"Living in the shadow of the big, bad Bat," Ivy said, her voice dripping with sympathy, moving closer into his personal space, pressing her body up against his own.. "You don't need him. You're the star. I can see it now... your own big, bright signal in the sky."

She ran her hands down his arms, her touch sending shivers through his sensitized skin. "Let me guide you” her hands the moved back up, massaging his shoulders before reaching round and locking behind the Boy Wonders neck.

Robin looked at her, the pheromones hitting his younger, more volatile system with the force of a freight train. "I... I've always wanted... my own light."

"I know you have," Ivy purred. She leaned in, her nose brushing against his. "And you deserve so much more than a shadow."

She tilted his head back, her fingers tangling in his short-cropped hair. "Let me kiss you," she commanded softly.

Robin didn't pull away. He didn't think of the mission, or the code, or the man he called a father. He leaned in, closing the distance.

The second kiss was just as silent as the first. Ivy pressed her lips to his, her eyes wide and mocking as she felt his heart race, then flutter, then stop. Unlike Batmans kiss which was gentle and Ivy was able to feel his surrender and relished in the fade of his strength. The Boy Wonder was needy, wanting, lustful. His hands attempted to roam her body even as his strength was being sapped. He attempted to force her mouth open, and allow his tongue to grace her own. Ivy mentally rolled her eyes, the wanting touch of a man.

But before she would allow things to escalate, Ivy stepped back, letting Robin’s body slide to the floor. He crumpled next to her feet, his face pale, the same green veins beginning to map a path of death across his skin.

The factory was quiet now, save for the hum of the machinery and the rhythmic hissing of Bane’s venom pump. The Dynamic Duo lay dead at the feet of the Mother of Eco-Terrorism.

Ivy turned to Bane, who stood like a silent sentinel in the centre of the room.

"Go meet up with the snow man, Bane," she said, her voice echoing in the hollow space. "I have to check up on Frostys wife” she snarked, looking back to the corpses of Gothams defenders.

She walked toward the exit, her hips swaying, the red hair trailing behind her like a funeral shroud for the city's heroes. The Defenders of the City had been dealt with, now she just had to deal with Freeze.
