The Disastrous life of Kusuo Minho

Summary:

There are few things Minho understands about his life. One of them is normalcy.

He aches for it. Yearns for it, even.

And, for once his wish is granted.

Or more like crashes into him.

Notes:

I have no idea why I wrote this (i do. i watched the show again.) but I somehow take pride in it at the same time. Very confusing feelings because I do feel like I didn't do neither fandom justice and word vomited a bunch of nothing lol. But. I am but a simple soul weak to fictional and real life funny boys so, yes.

Disclaimers:
+English is not my first language
+Some members were unintentionally left, sorry!
+Any perception of any character is entirely for fictional purposes and does not hold any real value or bias!! I'm saying this mainly to not get into any trouble lol but also to clarify that I do not mean any of things said in this fic and that this is done entirely for humourous and entertainment purposes. That being said, sorry seungmin, for the curse I laid upon you.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

The day was like any other. He was done with his classes, now heading home. It was a surprisingly peaceful day.

Almost too peaceful.

“Hey, buddy.”

Just as he thought. The horrors persisted.

Minho sighed. Unfortunately, Satan's advocate has found him.

Just as he had taken a step out the gates of the school, a frightening Seungmin spawned infront of him. If Minho was a normal person, he would've had a heartattack and died on the spot. But, alas.

Usually, he would've avoided him just like he did with all the other nuances flying around, but, unsurprisingly, this guy was different.

See, Minho can never get a grip on his existence, almost as if Seungmin himself is an anomaly, one bending the physics of the world to his whims. And Minho has tried to figure out what type of specimen he is. Believe him. He's tried really, really, hard- but to this day- he's found no answer.

It's a running theory, but he has the slightest of hunch it might be due to the fact the guy is the equivalent of a lobotomized dog, one with not a single thought in his brain.

Seriously, no matter how many times Minho has tried, he cannot read his thoughts like he does with normal people.

It sends a shiver down his spine whenever he starts thinking about it for too long. Almost as if some power, even stronger than him, was sending a warning to stay away and protect himself.

Seungmin, with his obnoxious fashion style, was waiting for a response Minho wouldn't grant him even if the worlds worst scientists captured and experimented on him with no mercy. Which was certainly a possibility as long as his brother was in the equation, but more on that later.

And unfortunately, by the time Minho was considering between knocking Seungmin down and booking it- or -surviving him like God's greatest soldier that he is, nuance #2 was already heading their way.

“Minho, did you feel it? The aura of the school changes whenever all the students head out. I heard some rumour about the boiler room acting up, it must be the work of the dark reunion! What do you say, wanna investigate?”

Yare yare.

Hyunjin, who spawned out of thin air behind him, was rambling nonsense with that stupid smug face of his about some ‘jet-black-wings’ like he always does, though he tunes it out.

His backstory is thankfully simpler than Seungmins- just a kid who got unsupervised internet access as a child while his mom was away attending famous fashion brands and parties. Which led him to be like this, believing in conspiracies and developing ‘main-character-syndrome’.

And as far as Minho can tell, it seems chronic.

Poor guy. He can't help but pity him. How someone must be so friendless that they resort to creating stories in an attempt to find connection. Any ordinary guy would've given him solace in the fact that he's young and handsome, that he still has time for finding his footing, with a bright life still ahead of him.

Sadly for him, Minho's no ordinary guy, therefore, he does no such thing.

Which somehow led to him latching onto Minho like a baby bird imprinting on the first thing it sees, much to his dismay.

Tired of their antics, Minho decides he needs to act fast to distract the two idiots blabbering about the best flavour of buldak ramen, to be able to escape.

He doesn't know how they got from point-A to point-whatever. And, no, he doesn't care enough to find out.

While the two are arguing, borderline fighting, Minho scoots to the side to use clairvoyance, scouting out any potential victims for his plan and- Ah hah!

Changbin, in all his sweaty glory, was heading towards their way.

Regardless of how many times Minho has used his powers to avoid him, the guy doesn't take a hint that Minho would rather die than be his gym buddy.

But for once he's thankful for his stubbornness.

Using telekinesis, he switches a pebble in Changbins way with a rock, big enough to trip him but not enough to hurt.

And trip he does, with the way the idiot was running.

Immediately, the two hyenas infront of him start rushing over towards their fallen comrade, who's screaming dramatically as if he's bleeding out in some warzone.

Changbin rolls into Hyunjins arms, not before glaring out of annoyance at a snarky grinning Seungmin- he suspects there's some beef between the two- talking about some ’dying-in-the-hands-of-an-angel’ -with tears rolling down his eyes.

Well, not only his eyes, as all three of them start bawling for whatever reason.

Minho doesn't hesitate. He uses the chance and teleports himself into the bathroom of a random cafe. He doesn't need to worry about anyone seeing him as the school street was already empty, and the bathroom stall was his safest and usual bet for teleportation.

Sure, he could've teleported straight home, but he does infact like counting his steps in.

Phew. Finally, he can head home.

...Is what he would've loved to say if it were that easy.

If nuance number God-knows-what wasn't waiting right outside his bathroom stall.

He winces. Shit. He's in a bad position. How does he even know I'm here in the first place?

He was able to escape the idiots easily, but Felix was smart. He was something else entirely. Someone who seemed to be favored by God himself.

And he was also someone who didn't know how to let a grudge go.

I know you're waiting in there, Minho. Don't think I've let you off the hook. How can it be that you looked at my LOL rank and didn't go “Oh-wow!” Who do you think you are?! Did you really think you could've looked at the most perfect person with the most perfect rank and not say “Oh-wow!” Poor, poor Minho. Thinking you can get away with this. We'll finally settle this today, and I will avenge myself by hearing you say “Oh-wow!” out of those precious nonchalant lips of yours! You have no where else to go. I've caught you! HaHaHahahaha-

Yikes. The inner monologue made him break a cold sweat. He should've just gone home. Curse his past-self.

A knock on the door feels like it strikes on Minho's soul instead. “Oh, Minho! I can't believe you're in there, my-my what a coincidence!”

The high-pitched voice with the fake sweetness paired with Felix's real inner deep voice was chilling, even for a guy like Minho.

“Say, shouldn't you join me in a match of League? I heard it's relaxing to the heart!

-And it'll end your suffering as well! There's no way you can reject me now. You should be blushing and fainting at the thought of ‘The Felix’ granting you a chance to play with him! A chance, since I'm such a sweet person! Because not only am I perfect from the outside but also because I'm perfect and humble from the inside!

Wow. Nothing about this guy seems sweet at all. Between the overtly sweet tone and the potential mob outbreak that could occur if Felix wished so, Minho found himself to be in a bit of a pickle.

Well, there was only one thing he could do.

The door of the stall opened and Felix's heart rushed. Finally! Finally, he can claim his sweet juicy victory and-

“Hey, buddy.”

“S-seungmin?!”

Minho could hear the scream from all the way out of the cafe. Poor Felix.

To understand what happened, Minho used his clairvoyance and checked back at the school, where the three guys ushered Changbin towards the nurse's office to get a bandage for the tiniest of a boo boo on his knee.

Seungmin, on the other hand, left an already dead-tired Hyunjin to handle the weight of a heavy deadlifter. Talking about taking a leak and being back in a second.

Of course in true fashion-sense, he fell asleep on the toilet.

And that's where Minho comes in.

A simple flick of the wrist and a sleepy Seungmin was teleported into the stall of a busy cafe, having woken up from Felix's insistent rambling.

And if you're wondering, no he won't remember a thing, not due to Minho's fault, but because it's Seungmin he's talking about.

Finally, he can actually head home. No obstacles this time. He almost smiled at the thought of a nuisance-less walk.

That is, until somebody bumped into his shoulder, catching him off guard.

It couldn't possibly be Seungmin, right? He's the only one who can surprise him-

Unless-

Minho barely caught himself from falling. The same couldn't be said about the other guy, who had fallen down on his ass.

Owww- Oh shit! I'm so sorry for bumping into you!”

Big doe eyes looked up at him. The stranger quickly stood up on wobbly legs, dusting off his pants, and adjusting his cap which had fallen off from impact.

Maybe it was because Minho was stunned more than anything, but when they locked their gazes once more, it felt like he had stopped breathing.

The boy had navy-blue hair, silver earrings adorning his several ear piercings. He had smudged black eyeliner, wearing black baggy jeans and t-shirt, with a jacket on top. He was also holding a large bag behind him, which by the looks of it, seemed like a guitar.

The stranger shifted and gave Minho an awkward smile, no doubt overwhelmed by his staring. “My name's Jisung, nice to meet you,” he flashed him a gummy smile. “I'm really sorry for bumping into you, I swear I don't do that on a normal basis, okay- maybe I do, but- ha-”

He caught himself on his rambling, cheeks flushed slightly.

Minho stopped himself from looking around, trying to see if this was some sort of social sitcom or something. Obviously he doesn't have to, considering his psychic powers and all that, but the strange encounter was giving him second thoughts. So there are two people in the world completely immune to my mind-reading?

Jisung shifts once more, smile faltering a bit. Ah- right. This is the part where he gives his name in return, like any normal social encounter.

But that begs the question, why?

Why should he tell him his name and form a connection. And why is that he really wants to do so? That his heart rate is picking up just at the thought of it?

It's something he's never felt before- since he was born- this warm fuzzy buzzing in his chest. It was a strange feeling, but a feeling he welcomed nonetheless.

“Kusuo Minho, nice to meet you too,” his voice gentle. The soft smile that crept up Minho's face felt bizzare, but he liked it. He liked the boy infront of him.

He felt normal for once. And he didn't want to let go of it.

Jisung smiled shyly. “I hope you don't mind this encounter. Again, I'm so sorry for bumping into you- but..." He fidgeted with the rings on his fingers and the pink on his cheeks darkened.

"As an apology, could I buy you something to eat?”

Wait- was Minho being asked on a date?

“Are you asking me out?”

At his unintentionally incredulous tone, Jisung winced slightly.

“No, no! Nothing like that, of course not, we obviously just met, um- I was just wondering that... outloud, yes! Haha... ha.” He was waving his hands here and there out of embarrassment, face fully on fire. A sight he found suprisingly cute.

But Minho couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed at his answer.

“Well, what if I wanted to go on a date with you?”

At that, Jisungs eyes sparkled. “I would love that,” he breathed out.

Notes:

A little self indulgence doesn't hurt anybody. Is it accurate to the characters? No. Do I care? Also no.
Anyways! I hope you enjoyed reading it regardless, I do have some ideas I could write aka continuing this, but let me know if you'd like to see that! Thanks for reading!
