Chapter Text

I’m Nakamura Okuto, I’m in high school and I’m shy and gay and in love with my classmate Hirose Aiki.
We just became friends and I’m trying to become more to him.

Today is like any other day, I wake up, think about Hirose, eat breakfast, get ready for school, hope to see Hirose on the way to school (spoiler alert: it happened once and I made a fool of myself so I’m not hoping too hard), get to school and park my bike, see Kawamura and her friends as we talk about the new bl issue of a magazine, and then wait for him to walk in.

My whole day is just turning around Hirose now that I think about it.
But can you blame me? I mean he’s perfect! With his gorgeous fluffy light brown hair, his wide brown doe eyes that twinkle under the sun, the way he walks, his laugh, his smile… I could go on and on, I’m even staring at him right now!

SHIT I’M STARING AT HIM

I quickly turn around, the specs of dust on the floor suddenly look really interesting…

“Hey! Nakamura-kun!!”

I practically melt at that voice whenever I hear it! That’s the voice of the guy I love, Hirose Aiki. The one I’ve been blabbering on about since the start of this chapter.

“…Nakamura…? You okay? You seem spaced out.”

I forgot I had to answer… again, I keep getting lost in those eyes and I bet I’m red like a tomato right now.

“O-oh. Hey Hirose! I’m doing just fine, no need to worry. How about you?”

I don’t really mind if he keeps worrying about me. But if he gets closer than he already is, my heart won’t be able to take it anymore. I’ll cherish this moment for the rest of my life though.

“Oh I’m great! By the way, wanna go home together after school?”

Oh Hirose, my dear Hirose, you’re so innocent that sometimes I wish you had ulterior motives.
Heck I wish for that everytime he asks me that! But he’s too oblivious to my feelings since I think I mask my crush pretty well, if I may say so myself.

“O- oh, yeah… sure I- I would love to”

why did I say love? Why did I say love? Why did I-

“Great! See you after school then” he ends up saying as he walks back to his seat

Well, maybe it wasn’t that bad of an idea to say I would “love to”?

—————————

As the day passes, I find the lessons become more and more boring, as always, but I don’t care anymore. I’m on cloud nine!!! I get to go on a date with my Hirose!! (It was never a date) I’m over the moon!

finally the last bell rings, some students had already packed their bags and were leaving. Others were still packing their stuff or talking, I was waiting for Hirose to stop chatting with his friends, not that I mind- okay… maybe I’m a bit jealous, but who wouldn’t be? They look so close? What if they already had a thing going on? W-well it’s not like I have any say in this since… I’m not dating Hirose…yet!

As Hirose finally says bye to his friends, I hide behind the other side of the door, not sure if he already forgot he was supposed to go home with me, but still not wanting to feel like I forced him if he did and I told him.

“Oh, hey Nakamura! You do remember we’re going home together, right?”

I nod, trying to hide my blush but I fail horribly. He did remember!

“Then why’re you hiding? Come on, let’s go!”

I feel like I’m ascending as I see him reach his arm out to me, his angelic smile blinding me. I don’t know what I should do in this situation but i’ll probably make the best choice, right?

WRONG

I should’ve gone for the hand while he was still holding it out to me, but what did I do? I ran to the lockers so fast I got there before him. I’m pretty sure I bumped into someone on the way here too!

As I turn around, I see Hirose running straight at me before stopping right in front of me. His hands resting on his knees as he breathes heavily.

“Huff huff, you’re a fast one aren’t ya, Nakamura? But next time please tell me if you decide to exercise a bit. Not that I mind but, I was totally not expecting it”

I. Am. Mortified.

“S-sure… I- I won’t do it anymore”

‘Won’t do it anymore’? Please, I’ll probably run away again very soon but I don’t want to admit that.

We put on our shoes and- damn does Hirose look so good, even when he’s doing something as simple as putting his shoes on

“You coming Nakamura?”

“O-oh yeah! Coming…”

As we walk home together, Hirose stops in front of a shop

“Wait for me here, ok? I’ll come back in a sec!”

“Uh don’t worry, I’ll stay”

And just like that, Hirose went inside the shop.

Around 5 minutes passed and Hirose finally came out, holding two keychains.

“Here, take this!”

I, for one, am not one to deny gifts, especially if they’re from Hirose. So I took it and thanked him!

We went our separate ways after that. I notice he also gave me a candy, it was a soft watermelon flavored candy. I ate it immediately, I didn’t want it to go bad.
(That was definitely not the only reason but are you judging?)

My head was spinning a bit as I got back home. I decided to skip dinner and just go straight to bed after a short shower.

The next morning I woke up, did the usual: wake up, think about Hirose, eat breakfast, look at the weird shaped bar above my parents’ head, get ready for-

Wait. The what now?
