Work Text:

A 50:50 chance.

No destiny, no logic, no soccer IQ.

Only pure luck, the courage to choose left or right.

It was unbefitting in his world, where only numbers and wheels existed, taking measured turns like they were programmed long before he was born.

This was his world, the realm he believed in, the dimension he belonged to.

Yet, a raider invaded, a small rebel who denied this world, this belief, his belief.

Unsuitable at first, but then fascinating and captivating.

So Vivian accepted the challenge, acknowledged the raid- no. Not a raider. He acknowledged Isagi Yoichi.

Yoichi, who challenged him as no one else had before.

An equal who saw the same, thought the same, knew the same, but still chose differently from him.

Fascinating!

Right or left?

Fated destiny or egotistical luck.

Only one could win.

Vivian chose right, the right destiny had chosen for him.

Yoichi chose left, the left he chose with his ego.

The ball moved not as destiny had preordained it billions of years ago, but as Yoichi forced it to, with pure, egotistical desire.

Vivian's eyes widened when realisation dawned on him. He had lost and was left in the dust.

Yoichi moved on and scored, although destiny tried to stop him one final time with an all-or-nothing charge.

The net rattled, and Yoichi roared like the rebel he was.

Vivian, who could only watch as the observer he had become, was puzzled, his metavision stuttering and malfunctioning.

His world, his belief, everything he embodied. It was perfect... until Yoichi came and took it all away from him.

Yoichi was the flaw in his perfect world, the flaw that ruined his perfection to rubble.

And yet, despite the sour taste of complete and utter annihilation, Vivian was enticed, drawn to the blinding light of Yoichi, who willingly defied destiny.

He was the error in his world, the flaw that showed him how much bigger this world was.

A new ego awakened, an ego where destiny would no longer choose for him. No, from now on, Vivian would choose his own destiny, the one he wanted the most.

With that thought in mind, his metavision activated, rotating wildly and uncontrolled. In his eyes, the view of Yoichi and nothing else reflected, the Beautiful Flaw that captivated him and drew him away from his natural habitat of destiny.
