He gets dressed swiftly, while Soap turns around onto his front so he can bury his head in the pillow. A tactic he has used too many times to count now, so that he would not have to see the other man leave and feel his heart squeeze only a little bit as he does so.
Some days it feels like Ghost is taking his heart with him, carrying it between those hands that hold him down. As the door closes with a quiet click sound and the door handle moves to its original position again, Soap immediately knows that today is one of those days as the tears spring back into his eyes.
