Work Text:
Felix feels a little nervous under the heavy weight of Hyunjin's eyes. He trusts his lover, and has felt these eyes scan his body thousands of times to the tenfold, like they do now, whether it be between his legs or affectionately washing in the shower.
However…
“Is this position okay?” Felix asks, visibly sweating. He sits on a cloth on his knees, at an angle which shows his freckles back and prominent spine ridge, and his penis. His face is also in the shot, neck slightly craned and locking eyes with Hyunjin's doe eyes.
“A little to the left, more, there you go, like that. Are you uneasy?” Like a hound dog, Hyunjin can detect the uncertainty in his demeanor even if it's not overflowing.
Felix shuffles to show more of his front half. Hyunjin instructs him to part his leg a little more, revealing more of his soft belly and perky chest. Felix looks like a cute little doll, peachy skin, luminous brown eyes and all.
It feels silly to admit. “Kind of?”
And he knows why. It's the pose and how exposed he is. Exposed enough that he can feel a light draft from his rump and his penis, and how his skin frisson with gooseflesh.
“You know I'll just keep this piece for ourselves. You don't have to, either.” The proposal was Felix being his muse. There are plenty of human sketches in his notebooks, but never any of Felix besides a few headsets. Plus, he said he wanted to work on his anatomy.
“That's not it. I want to be your piece of art–it's fine.” He assures. Hyunjin cocks his head and bounces his leg like a cute, curious puppy.
But then Felix waves him off again. He really wants this. Even if, for some reason, being so vulnerable with the absence of a sexual sense is just a bit new. To sit so plainly on display, with perky nipples, risen goosebumps and a soft penis so clearly seen feels like a privilege. Many people have seen Felix's body intimately. It's not hard to imagine. Felix carries a boyish charm that all the men and women are drawn in with a flute.
The difference is they've never seen him like…this, at his purest form, not just for sex. They've never got to appreciate the true beauty of a nude human body without a pervasive gaze. Felix can't find any in Hyunjin's, there's more of a fond look in his eye. That's why Hyunjin is the only truly special person despite him not being his first partner.
Let alone, Felix has never been someone's muse, either. It's not exactly common for him to go around naked and feel 100% conformable with it. Right now, he wants to step outside his comfort zone a little. Not only that but he wholly trusts Hyunjin with his life.
Yes, Hyunjin is a painter. So he's taken many models before and sculpted things with a brush on paper, but this treads a completely different line. It fills Felix with something somewhat foreign but fluffy and happy instead. It fills his whole being, pushing back the sense of restless nerves jumbling around.
Hyunjin waits a little longer, getting his supplies ready. He does this cute thing where his tongue pokes out his mouth a little in concentration.
“I'm gonna start now, okay?” Hyunjin tells him. He sits in a tall stool with a large easel in front. In his left hand, a fresh pencil. The other is a palate with a few basic colors, and on the ground are different types of pencils. They are almost mesmerizing to look at. “You'll be here for a while.”
“I know.”
Felix takes a deep breath to calm himself down. Inside the room, Hyunjin's room, it is muted with soft tones that somehow seem incredibly vibrant. It might be the soft sunlight glittering through the opened window and shining down on his sunlit body. He can feel the radiating warmth almost seep onto his bones. There is a musky but soothing incense scent lingering somewhere in the air, along with dust.
Hyunjin is silent as he works. He curiously keeps between the paper and his muse, eyes showing little judgement. Felix mimics the calm atmosphere and listens to the sketches of the pencil to guide his thoughts within. Occasionally, a cute noise will slip out his boyfriend's lips if he messes just one thing up.
Felix can't see it, but he knows Hyunjin is working on every finite detail. Carving out every intricacy to a cellular level, every ridge and stroke is carefully calculated even if it makes the process tedious and slow. Staying still isn't so hard and the position is comfortable enough, there's not a shred of chill while he bathes in the sun.
It almost feels like meditation. He's not scolded if he closes his eyes or hums a quiet tune to himself. He thinks about his other friends. Nakedness aside, they would not survive staying still for this long.
Felix feels nervous to see the final product. It's the kind that is more anticipation-driven than general doubt. Hyunjin has always had a talent for art, the act of creating life on paper with your own hands and grit. To create an entire ecosystem of shapes and color to make something magnificent confined by stagnancy as the end result. Art is something your eyes can trace and appreciate all the steps that went through creating something that only takes five seconds to process.
Felix likes to watch him over his shoulder while he works. It doesn't matter what style, if they're darker in setting or if they're a caricature of glittery rainbows and joy. Hyunjin tends to follow the naturalist route of realism or sometimes more gritty works.
There's no breaking the position. Even if Hyunjin locked it in his head with the base laid out, it shatters the carefully crafted illusion. By the hour mark Hyunjin starts to layer the colors with his brush, using darker tones that while not fit at the moment, are layered for shadowing. Hyunjin possibly switches through hundreds of pencils, brushes, and paints of all sizes since everything must be in perfect harmony.
Felix lets his mind wander about all the lovely and flowery things he has to offer. Not sarcasm. True, pure moments like these. The afternoon bleeds a little warmer where the sunlight becomes searing on his skin. “Is it warm?”
Felix shakes his head. “Keep going.”
“I'm almost done.”
“Really?” Felix says, a little breathless.
“It's been two and a half hours. There are always details to refine, but I'm getting close.”
A spark of excitement flutters inside Felix. He does his best to hide it when it nags at his face. “It's alright, I want you to take as much time as you need.”
Soon, Hyunjin tells him he is done and turns the easel around. Felix's jaw drops. He didn't expect any less from his talented boyfriend, but maybe it's just the sight of seeing himself so beautifully reflected. It's very realistic, with a slight charm. Marked by warm tones, Felix looks exactly as he did sitting there, bathed in the sunlight. The freckles are meticulously dotted over his messy face, some flecks of the neck and his shoulders down to his back. His nipples are a tan shade, just like his lips, half-mast smile. His eyes look like melted dark gold where they squint a bit. There's a look of glee that Felix didn't even realize he was giving off. His skin is tan and his hair is a wispy shade of blonde that ruffles around his neck and face, looking like duck fluff.
His eyes almost automatically flicker away when they drop from his stomach to penis, clad between his thighs. He even turns a little red. Sometimes, Felix will look in the mirror and find it unreal that he owns such a body. But when seeing someone else like Hyunjin articulate his features? Well…
“It looks amazing.” Tears welled in Felix's eyes. “You make me look beautiful.”
“What do you mean?” Hyunjin asks incredulously. “It was easy, you're already beautiful.” Hyunjin says it is lighter than air, eyes set on and dead serious, like he is saying the sky is blue. “And now I can immortalize your beauty in just one of many ways.”
Felix looks at it for a moment longer. Soft colors, bleeding together, showing the raw state of himself. Pure and whole, no filters to censor the beauty. The longer he looks at it, the more comfortable it seeps into his core. “It's pretty.”
Felix speaks like it's just a fact of life. Because it really is.
He kisses Hyunjin as the statement punctuate. It doesn't matter if he's done it hundreds of times, he needs Hyunjin to know he loves him. His lips are just as soft as his heart, as for his, Felix would let Hyunjin hold him to keep it safe.
“I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
