It was absolutely a biggie, this was the biggest biggie possible! How could she act like this was nothing? Does she think Mega Man spends all day jumping through doors & shooting lemons? Not anybody could go out & risk their life to save the world on a bi-anual basis! “Oh man. I need to sit down…”
“Hey, at least she got her chores done.” said Auto, trying to look on the bright side.
“You’re. Not. Helping. Auto!” said Rock with frustration. He was already panicking over the well being of his sister, whether the dishes were done were the least of his concerns right now.
“Mega Man,” said Dr. Light, “I know you’re in shock right now, but your sister may be in danger. You have to go rescue her before it’s too late.”
“I know! It’s just… I know she’s been acting out a bit lately, but I didn’t think she would jump to this so soon!”
“Rock,” said Dr. Light, putting his hand on his son's shoulder, “Roll is a growing robot, & so are you. You’re both getting to the age where kids start disobeying their elders, make poor decisions, & do reckless things. I’m not saying I’m not upset, I am, but I want you to know this wasn’t unexpected. Now, get out there & bring your sister home, I need to give her a stern talking to.”
“...Right.” Mega Man donned his helmet, & rushed into his sister's room. He felt bad about coming in without permission, but this was an emergency. He went into his sister's wardrobe (which she had for some reason) & pulled out one of her spare bows. “Rush, come over here boy!”
“Ruff ruff!” Rush planted himself front & center.
“Rush, I need you to help me find Roll! Here, smell this!”
Rush sniffed the bow, & in seconds, he was out the door & pointing down the street.
“Alright, let's go. Bye dad, I’ll be back soon!”
“Good luck Mega Man! & remember, you’re still on the job! I expect you to at least deal with the rogue robots by dark!”
“Don’t worry, I will!” & he was out the door. He had a big job ahead of him. Not only did he have to do the usual saving the world gig, he also had to save his sister before she got herself scrapped! This would be a big task, & he knew he would need help. But before he could get properly on his way, he already had a few foes to face: A squad of Sniper Joes, & a couple of Mets were in the way!
“It's Mega Man! Stop Him!”
Mega Man equipped his signature buster, & prepared for battle. “Alright Mega Man, let’s get ready to rock.”
Roll on the other hand, was not that far ahead. In fact, she had just left five minutes before Rock had found her note. She’d even managed to slip past that squad of Joe’s before they arrived to block the road. She knew she was heading into danger, but it probably wasn’t as bad as anything she had faced before. Hell, 4 months earlier she fought one of her brother's former foes in the form of an angry manager. If she could take on Grill Woman at full power & half dysphoria, she could take on any other robot master at Full power with no gender dysphoria! Like last time, she was wearing a more casual outfit. She was still wearing her signature dress (it was kinda warm outside), but she put on her coat in case it got colder. While she walked, she heard a commotion from behind her. Uh oh, looks like Rock was in trouble already. Hopefully it wouldn’t be too bad. As she neared an intersection, she noticed a group of Joes blocking the way. They seemed to be guarding some sort of device.
“Hey Joe, it sounds like Mega Man’s already got to work.”
“Hey, maybe those Joe’s will stop him before he gets here, and we can take the rest of the day off!” He said as a bit of dark humour.
“Ha, nice one Joe!”
“So, uhh, what is this thing?” Said Joe, banging on the side of the apparatus, “It looks like one of those copy robot scanners?”
“Yeah, something like that. It’s a part of the Dr’s latest plan.”
“What, he thinks he can make more fakers? Not like his last one worked out well.”
“Yeah I didn’t really like Quint anyway. Who knows. Maybe the new guys will be less rebellious.”
“Um, excuse me, do you know where Dr. Wily's fortress is?” Roll asked, sheepishly inching forward.
“Oh hey, you're Mega Man's sister, right? Yeah, the base is to the south, a bit west of Colorado Springs, it's the giant bunker with the skull out front, can't miss it.”
“Oh, thanks!” She said, beginning to walk off.
“Hang on, now that you’ve seen us, we can’t just let you leave. Boys, bring her in!”
The joes began to encircle Roll, shields at the ready.
“Oh man, not again.” Roll took out her broom & charged the first Sniper Joe. It only took about 3 hits to knock the shield from his hands, leaving him practically defenseless. The second Joe charged in to save his brother, Roll grabbed him by the shield & he got thrown into the machine. A third joe showed up, shoved Roll right into the path of the apparatus. She was just about to strike back, when:
“Joe! Turn on the device!”
So Joe turned on the device, & the radar dish thing at the front sent a beam toward Roll, freezing her in place momentarily.
“Hey, what are you doing to me?!”
“Okay, what now?”
“We book it out of here.”
Somewhere far off in the mountains, a satellite dish was receiving a transmission.
“Finally!” exclaimed Dr. Wily with giddy excitement, “Those cheap Break-Men actually managed to pull it off! Now, once I have these schematics, my new army will be unstoppable. And to think all it took was one bad trip to Costco!”
The computer finished downloading the data, letting Wily view every last detail that was going on inside of Roll.
“Now, let’s see what the scanner caught… Hmm, yes, very interesting. With my army of Jane Does, nobody will be able to stop me! Not even Mega Man, or his winy sister!”
Mega Man had just cleared out the last of the Joes. He was finally ready to get back on track.
“Finally, we got rid of all the enemies on this street, & were none the worse for wear Rush. Can’t say that about Roll’s bow though.” He pulled it out of his backside pocket dimension, it had gotten all messed up in the fighting. Mega Man had tried to keep it safe, but, truth be told, he got stuck trying to take out this one Joe & forgot the Met that was behind him. “I don’t suppose you can sniff anything out from this, can you boy?”
Rush sniffed the bow, but couldn’t find anything, he just put his head down in disappointment.
“Well, there goes Plan A. Time to go & meet up with Plan B then, come on.”
Rush turned into a hoverboard, & Mega Man began flying off to the other side of town. Plan B of course, was Blues. He was still at the LaLinde residence, & probably wouldn’t be busy at the moment. On the way there, he thought to himself, how could Roll do something so stupid? She knew she wasn’t equipped to deal with Dr. Wily. Maybe she could take out a couple of Joes, but not a whole army. & the robot masters! How could she expect to win when they were still running about? At last, he arrived. Once he landed, he walked up to the door & rang the door bell.
Ding Dong!
Now he just had to explain the situation in a calm and collected manner.
“Oh hey Rock, what’s up-”
“BLUESMYSISTERRANOFFTOFIGHTDRWILY&NOWIHAVETOSTOPHERBFORESHEGETSHERSELFKILLEDBUTIWRECKEDHERBOW&NOWIHAVENOLEADESTOGOOFFOFSOINEEDYOURHELPTOTRACKHERDOWN!” Rock said calmly, while politely shaking Blues back & forth. He was so polite that Tempo had to come over & slap him in the face a few times to make him stop.
“Hands! Off! My! Boyfriend! You! Filthy! Blue! Chump!”
Rock slapped Rolls note right back at her into her face, and she began to read it.
“Rock, I need you to explain to me what’s going on.” Blues asked.
“I-”
“And say it, slowly.”
“Okay, *breath*, my sister went to go fight Dr. Wily by herself, & now I have to save her before she gets herself killed.”
“Oh dang, really?”
“Yeah it says so right here. Didn't know she could write in perfect Veranda font. She even included the Japanese honorifics.”
“Oh, damn. Alright, come inside.”
Mega Man entered the LaLinde household. In there, along with the ones you already know, were Vesper Woman, Dr. LaLinde, Forte, & Treble. Everyone gathered in the living room, & Rock briefed them all on the situation.
“So Roll’s going to fight Dr. Wily, all by herself?” asked Ice Man.
“Yes, I just spent the last two minutes explaining that to you all.”
“Well I can’t say I’m not surprised,” said Forte.
“You’re. Not. Helping. Forte.”
“So where do we come in?” asked Blues.
“Well my first idea was to get Rush to track her down with this,” Mega Man brought out the disheveled ruins of Roll’s bow, “but evidently that's not gonna work out.”
“Man, looks like Roll killed someone with that thing.” Said Vesper Woman.
“Well, what's your plan now?” asked Blues.
“I don't know. Forte, are you still connected to Wily's spy satellite?”
“No, it's been down for months.”
“What about you boys go to Costco?” Suggested Dr. LaLinde, “Maybe she stopped by there since?”
“Of course, why didn't I think of this earlier?” Mega Man yelled in excitement, “She likes going there often, maybe the staff there can help us!”
“No, she hasn't been here.” growled Janet, “In fact she's banned from ever coming here again.”
“What, she's banned!?” asked Mega Man.
“Yeah, since about four months ago. Come on, I'll show you.” Janet took the group into her office, & brought up the security footage of that fateful day. Shelves knocked over, clothing thrown all about, it was horrible.
“Sh- She did all that?”
“Yeah. And I'm still paying off all the damages from that. She also kept taking all the napkins.”
The trio, consisting of Mega Man, Proto Man, & Forte walked out, disappointed. They all met with the others, who were waiting in the truck.
“Any luck?” asked Dr. LaLinde.
“No, she hasn’t been here. & apparently I’m gonna have to do the bulk buying from now on.” said Mega Man in disappointment.
“Hey, at least we got hotdogs.” said Forte, talking with food in his mouth.
“Well, now what?” asked Vesper.
“Well, we still have all those robot masters to subdue. Best bet is we get to them before they get to Roll.”
“Hmm, sounds simple enough.” Said Proto Man. “What do you think, Tempo?”
“Huh, we’re coming?” she asked.
“Yeah, that’s what Rock brought us along for, right? And, we could probably cover more ground if we work as a team?” He replied, knowingly.
“Ohhh, yeah, sssuuure.” Tempo grimaced.
“Hmm, well, I suppose it is an emergency.” Said Dr. LaLinde. This normally didn't happen but given the circumstances it would probably be fine. “Why don’t you bring Vesper Woman with you?”
“W- Bu- Ugh, fine.”
“Yay! I get to save the world with my favorite sister!” exclaimed Vesper Woman.
“Hey, I’m still your only sister, for the time being.”
“Alright! Forte, you’re coming with me!” exclaimed Mega Man.
“Okay- wait what are we doiNG HEY-” and they both vanished without a trace.
“Okay, they can’t hear us anymore.” said Proto Man.
“Blues, I know you’re angry, but you can’t just go and try to take out your sister behind your brother's back.”
“Tempo, we all know what happened 4 months ago. If that was any indication of her current mental state, then chances are she’s not gonna go easy on Wily. Rock might think otherwise, but we can’t take any chances with her.”
“Are you two planning out your revenge fantasy over there?” Dr. LaLinde asked.
“I swear on my soul I won’t try to kill her.” replied Proto Man
“Look, I know where you’re coming from, I just don’t think revenge is the best option here.” said Tempo.
“She tried to set you on fire, I don’t think talking is on the table here.”
“Hey, are we going to fight some Robot Masters, or are you two gonna talk vengeance all day?” asked Vesper Woman impatiently.
“Yeah, just a second.” Proto Man nodded to Tempo knowingly.
Tempo, reluctantly, brought Vesper over. “Okay, so Mega Man & Forte are handling the eastern hemisphere, that leaves us with the west.”
“Okay, so who are we up against?”
“So we have Gust Man.”
“Guts Man, I thought he retired?”
“No, not Guts Man, Gust Man. Like a gust of wind.”
“Oh, well uh, sounds inconvenient to fight against. Who else?
“Alright, uh, Pyro Man?”
“Oof, sounds kinda dangerous.”
“Glacier Man?”
“Come on, I don't want to spend hours waiting for him to do one attack.”
“...Static Man?”
“...You know what, let's start with Gust Man!”
“Okay, let’s go!” exclaimed Proto Man, Teleporting away. Then he came back. “...I realised you don’t have teleporters.”
“So how are we gonna get there?” asked Tempo.
“Ugh, we’ll go to my dad’s place. Come on.”
