Chapter Text
Veronica was in love with JD. Veronica was not into girls. Veronica was happy with her relationship.
“Veronica?” Chandler aggressively tapped her shoulder, “Are you even listening to me! I said I needed a pass so I can skip 7th period.”
Veronica shook her head pulling herself out of her thoughts, “Yeah, yeah, sorry.” She rubbed the bridge of her nose before pulling out her dairy and scribbling down a pass. “Her you go, your highness,” she mocked handing the paper to Chandler.
“Haha very funny,” Heather sneered. “Write yourself one too you’re coming with me.” Veronica obliged scribbling down an excuse for herself before Heather grabbed her arm and dragged her to the office to check themselves out. “Why exactly are we skipping anyway?” Veronica sighed walking out of the room after checking both of them out of school.
“Don’t tell me you seriously forgot about tonight’s party.”
“I didn’t! I just don’t understand why we have to skip 7th period is all!” Veronica hissed.
“Yeah well I don’t really trust you to not look a mess so I’m going to help you. Sorry I don’t want you to look like shit!” Heather pushed her out of the school door.
Veronica sighed and walked towards Chandlers car before an all too familiar face appeared in the parking lot. “Oh hi JD,” Veronica plastered a smile onto her face. Walking toward him before Heather practically jumped on her trying to pull her away from him.
“I believe we were leaving.” She asserted.
“Oh come on Heather let me at least say hi to my boyfriend,” Veronica’s heart twinged on the last word, she definitely was in love with JD, she was happy with him. So why did it feel so wrong to refer to him as her boyfriend? It doesn’t matter she attempted to reassure herself.
“Wow didn’t know Heather was so clingy when it comes to her little pets,” JD chuckled walking up to Veronica and slinging an arm around her shoulder before kissing her. But when he did this that feeling in her gut came back, it felt wrong.
Her thoughts were interrupted by an aggravated Heather Chandler. “I am not clingy!” She yelled pulling Veronica away from him. “And you need to get the fuck away right now, you’re blocking the path to my car!”
“God whine much?” JD shrugged before begrudgingly walking away. Heather made a face at him and sighed deeply before dragging Veronica into the passenger seat.
Chandler turned her head to face Veronica, “I fucking hate your boyfriend,” she stated before starting the car and speeding at least 20 miles above the speed limit to make she Veronica couldn’t respond.
“Sit down,” Heather stated pointing towards her bed. Veronica nodded and lowered herself onto the mattress she was quickly followed by Heather who jumped on top of her makeup kit in hand. For some reason Veronica felt her heart skip a beat and heat rush to her face. Stop being so weird Veronica, she told herself before sighing.
Within minutes Heather had coated Veronica’s face in makeup, and she smirked before grabbing a dark red lipstick. Heather firmly grabbed Veronica’s chin pulling her closer, Veronica’s face got even hotter at this. Chandler opened the lipstick and rubbed it against the other girls lips, and Veronica could’ve sworn she saw Heather bite her lip as she did this.
Heather hummed as she sat back to admire her work, “You look hot,” she said smirking before turning away and heading to her closet. Veronica slapped herself in the arm I’m not into girls I’m not into girls I’m not into girls… Veronica chanted under her breath after feeling her heartbeat spike. She watched as Chandler disappeared into her ginormous closet and Veronica layed down on Chandlers bed reaching her arms above her head.
Heather soon came back with an off-shoulder knee length royal blue dress. “Here,” she tossed it next to Veronica, “Change into this while I get myself ready, we leave in 30.”
Veronica obeyed and headed into the bathroom to change into the dress, it fit her perfectly—wait why does Heather have a dress in her closet that perfectly fit her anyways? Veronica sighed ignoring the thought and started to brush her hair until she thought it looked expectable. When she stepped out of the bathroom she was faced with a perfectly put together Heather Chandler.
Her hair was let down and she was wearing a deep red dress that perfectly highlighted her body. Veronica’s face flushed looking at her and she slapped her self internally, she was straight, and she did not have a crush on her best friend.
Breaking the silence Heather spoke, “Well come on!” She huffed grabbing Veronica’s wrist and once again dragging her to the car.
As the pair drove to the party Veronica swear she saw Heather steal a few glances at her. God Veronica pull it together, Heather Chandler is like the straightest person on Earth. Veronica screamed at herself internally.
“Veronica.”
“Veronica?”
“Huh?” Veronica turned her head to see Heather glaring at her and quickly realized they had arrived. “Oh uh sorry…” She mumbled pulling herself out of the car.
The two of them headed towards to door and once inside Veronica left Heather with the excuse of needing a drink.
The girl stumbled into the kitchen in search of alcohol. Veronica grabbed the nearest thing she thought contained alcohol and chugged it desperately needing to calm down. She quickly regretted this as the liquid created a burning sensation in her throat.
Sighing Veronica wondered the halls for a few minutes until located Duke, Chandler, and McNamara. Veronica took her spot next to Chandler who smirked at her before looking away.
God this was going to be a long night.
