    The half-buried sword squelched in protest as Yuu yanked it free. Mika gasped, and his body moved. Before he could even comprehend what was happening, Yuu was atop him. His thighs bracketed each side of his chest, while his knees dug into his arms.

    “And what you fail to mention is that vampire’s wounds heal on their own.” Yuu’s green eyes narrowed on him, searching. He leaned in and Mika’s lungs stopped. “Right here,” he said, pressing two fingers into the slit that was still leaking. “This is going to heal in under two minutes.”

    “Then what?” Mika rasped. “You’re gonna kill me? If so, do it quickly; I woke up to a noise complaint stuck to my door.”
