Summary
Jason was drifting. He lost something when Leo died - a fraction of himself that no doubt followed Leo to Elysium. Even in death, Jason wanted nothing more than to trail after the son of Hephaestus. He was so lost without Leo to act as his guide, his spark in the overwhelming darkness that had surrounded him since August.
Thankfully, he still had the rest of the Seven to pull him out of the ground whenever things got bad. They lingered - not quite obnoxious, but cautious in a way that made Jason feel comforted. They did everything they could, but nothing seemed to be able to distract from the hollowness.
So when Piper, his ex girlfriend-turned best friend offers him an opportunity to live like a kid for once, who is he to say no? It´s either that or wallow in his cold, empty cabin until summer.
Between cheesy rom coms, calculus, and bonding over what´s been lost, Jason starts to relearn what it means to be alive. He starts to consider that, maybe, this world is manageable without Leo Valdez.
But then an iris message arrives and shatters his carefully constructed framework of peace, and he´s dragged right back into a whirlwind of brilliant ideas and beautiful smiles.(title from florence + machine)
