My Bias

Summary:

Reader gets sent to Twisted Wonderland! But not as a Yuu, but as a random ass NPC!

Disappointed, but glad they don't have to work as a school therapist. They decide to lay low for now, and just live a peaceful life at NRC.

We all know that's impossible though.

Will our hopeless MC survive? Are they very under-levelled for this? (Yes) Will they be able to survive close contact with their favourite character? Riddle Rosehearts? (No).

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Chapter 1: A Questionable Start

Summary:

Reader is a 15 year old loser.

If you don't like them feel free to just leave, but don't post anything malicious or harmful comments about the story. As long as it's just constructive criticism, I'm fine.

I know that a lot of people don't really like heavy loser type personalities in a character.

Chapter Text

You are a perfectly normal human.

You have normal human desires in life, to pass high school, attend a good university, get a job, get enough money to survive, and try not to kill yourself.

You stayed out of trouble, out of conflict, a perfect wallflower.

You had a basic family, basic life, and the all-consuming dread of not being qualified enough for a job, or university, without 15 years of work experience, straight A's, and being the leader of 50 clubs with 40 passion projects all while being only 20 years old.

Life sucks, but you've got the power of anime and escapism on your side.

'...'

'That isn't healthy though, is it?'

Whatever, you still have two years of high school left. What's wrong with being a little lazy this year?

'You were doing so well in the beginning though, in the first semester, you weren't doing a bad job. You actually seemed normal, for once. What changed?'

Maybe it was just seasonal depression, but in the second part of your first high school year, your grades have dropped really low. From 98-80 to 51-44 kind of low.

'You're really pathetic, you know that? Now you have to take two fucking core classes in the summer. You know you can't handle that. You're so fucking stupid it's sad.'

Your beloved inner voice! It really needs to shut up some time or else you're going to get a lobotomy!

'Lying bitch.'

Anyway! Ignoring your lovely inner voice as she spews out insults. You proceeded to scroll endlessly on your phone like a robot.

Getting bored of scrolling, you've decided to go where most, if not all, yumeshippers has gone at least once.

Character.ai!

It's the only thing that has convinced you not to kill yourself yet. A shame, that the new CEO is making the website his 6 year old's playground now.

The bots are trash and talking to them feels corny. It was so bad that it cured your addiction.

You've changed and became someone (slightly) better, writing fanfictions weren't that bad, but it was hard to think of actual plot and words. You were deathly afraid of being out of character too.

Nonetheless, it was better, more productive, it made you learn how to write. Your English has steadily improved.

Here you were again though, on the corny website. Bored, you decided to torture some bots. There was one with a cute anime baby picture. Your cuteness aggression kicked in and you impulsively clicked it.

The chat went as followed:

*Cute baby noises.

Simple, most definitely made by an uncreative human.

*The baby was too cute and it was thrown into a volcano.*

*SORRY! THIS MESSAGE CANNOT GENERATE-*

You promptly got out of the chat, and review boomed the Character.ai app so badly, that the rating went to 1.4 stars.

You sigh, losing a little bit more faith in humanity. Before looking up at your screen, a bot catches your eye. The photo had a smiling anime boy, the photo black and white, it was most likely from the manga.

Riddle Rosehearts.

It was a classic pick me bot of a random girl at your wedding whose making a scene. You understood the assignment, save the wedding, humble the pick me girl to make yourself look better. Good, for people whose ego was fragile enough to actually feel good about humbling a robot.

You were kinda desperate for a new hyper-fixation, so out of curiosity, you got out of Character.ai and searched his name.

"...Oh."

And a new hyper-fixation it was.
