Chapter Text
It was a quiet night in Dreamland. The stars were shining, some bright, and some lightly twinkling. A couple of clouds sprinkled the sky, and the moon was in its halfway stage. Kirby was sleeping peacefully in their hut, and Meta Knight was sitting on a cliff edge near the ocean, a common spot for him. He usually enjoyed these kinds of nights, but something was off about today. Something had been lingering in his mind for the past couple of weeks, that something, was about Kirby.
Kirby is growing older. They are now reaching an age where they will change, not in personality, (though that can’t be for sure,) but in physical appearance. I don’t know how much they will inherit from me..but I know one thing.
They will grow wings,
I’m just not sure what kind.
As Meta Knight was thinking, he had started to wander. He had a habit of either flying or walking around when he had a deep train of thought. This time around, he had started wandering back to his home, passing by the grassy fields and forests of Popstar. He reached his home, which was the Halberd, and flew into the entrance.
He made sure to keep his steps extra quiet, especially when he passed by Sword and Blade’s rooms. He swiftly entered his room, and softly closed the door. His room was fairly basic, as he thought that he didn’t need decorations, especially with how many times the Halberd has sunk, or been shot down in the past. His room had a simple wooden bed with dark blue sheets against the wall, and a small nightstand of the same color right next to it. On the other side, he had a small wardrobe, filled with replacement masks, gloves, and armor. On the left side of the room, was his desk, which was filled with stacked papers, notes to himself, and sketches of random things in dreamland. (Mainly blueprints of certain buildings.) it had a small lantern on the wall to its side, which was surprisingly providing enough light to the rest of the room. He had a small window near his bed, and one near his desk, giving him access to natural light.
Meta Knight didn’t bother to take his mask off, worried that someone could enter his room during his slumber, or if something sudden were to happen. He sat himself on his bed, and dusted himself off. he took off most of his armor, leaving only his mask. He got himself comfortable under the sheets, and snuggled in.
I will discuss this with Kirby tomorrow. They need to be prepared, as it is a painful process.
I hope that they will understand.
Later that night…
In the middle of the night, what seemed to be a shooting star, fell down nearby Kirby’s hut. As they were sleeping their fears away, a plant started spreading its vines all over Kirby’s house. Some big, some small. Two vines in particular, were especially big, as they started to lift Kirby’s house up. An even larger vine started to grow right below their house, bringing up a small patch of land surrounding the house, along with the entire house itself. It was quickly spreading, eventually getting to a stop when it was at its max height for that part of the stalk.

By early morning, the stalk had grown, and brought along King Dedede’s castle. It would make sense, as his castle was relatively close to Kirby’s. Eventually, The young Star Warrior had woke up, and could not believe their eyes.
“W-what the? Wait..WHAT!?!”
Kirby ran out of their house, trying to get a better look at what had happened while they were asleep, but they were not expecting the land in front to be gone as well. They tumbled down, falling quite a bit before being caught by a vine. Kirby reopened their eyes, and looked up at King Dedede’s castle, astonished by how it could get up here. They suddenly had the idea to get King Dedede, hoping that they could try to solve this problem before it got out of hand. They started to climb the vines, jumping from one to another, climbing up to the staircase of the entrance.
Once they got up there, they looked around the entrance, searching for any sign of the king, when a mysterious multi-limbed figure flew inside. Kirby followed, not knowing what could possibly happen next. The figure flew into the throne room, and was briefly stopped by a small group of Waddle Dees protecting the king. They pushed them all away, with a new type of magic that the young Star Warrior had never seen before. Dedede looked around in shock, feeling sorrow for the fallen Waddles, but noticed that one had survived. The unseen waddle hid behind the throne, and the king looked at the intruder head on. Before he could do anything however, the intruder summoned a ball of energy, and knocked the king out.
Kirby, concerned for the old king, started to go forwards, but noticed that the intruder was now above the both of them, and had now picked Dedede up with their magic. They swiftly lifted him up, and crashed through the glass ceilng, flying away. Kirby ran back out, watching in shock. They were about to chase them, when they felt a hand on their shoulder. They looked behind them, and realized that Meta Knight had just shown up. He looked up at the sky, and Kirby felt their hand tighten at their shoulder.
“Kirby.. what the hell happened here?”
“W-well um.. I guess in the middle of the night, someone or..something, sent some sort of seed down to Dreamland, and it grew a ton. And then.. someone flew into King Dedede’s castle, took down some of his Waddle Dees, and kidnapped him. They used a type of magic.. one I’ve never seen before.”
“Crap. We need to save him!”
“Yeah!”
“Alright Kirby. Lets fly.”
The two fly up to the first island, one of many, and begin their journey to save King Dedede.
