Chapter Text
Caine dumped a box of papers on the ground in front of everyone.
Zooble squinted at it. "What are these?"
"GREAT QUESTION, ZOOBLE! This is a collection of all the complaints I've received about Jax and Gangle's relationship."
Pomni mumbled, "That's a... lot of papers."
"I didn't write that many!" Gangle defended herself.
"Of course you didn't, my sweet saltine sandwich, you!" he telepathically split the papers into six piles, then he pointed at each with his cane as he spoke. "These ones are yours, these ones are from Zooble, Ragatha, Pomni and Kinger, and these two are from Jax!"
Gangle's pile was by far the largest. She blushed.
"Wait, wait, wait..." Zooble shook their head. "JAX wrote to complain?" They shot Jax a look while he grinned obnoxiously next to them, hand on his hip. "What could he POSSIBLY have to complain about?"
"LET'S READ IT, SHALL WE?" Caine brought the papers up and began reading them out loud. "This one says 'make Gangle less stupid and sad all the time it's getting boring',"
"Of course." Zooble rolled their eyes and crossed their arms.
"And THIS one says 'why in your artificial mental sludge mind would you ever think it was a good idea to give that masked freak a position of power? If you ever do it again I swear I will knock your teeth out'." Caine brought up multiple of Gangle's complaints next and started reading those too, despite nobody having asked. "'Please make Jax stop bullying me. He keeps taking my comedy mask and it hurts', 'Caine, please help', 'Can you make my mask less breakable at least?', 'Please talk to Jax for me. He won't listen', "Plea-'"
"Okay, we get it." Zooble interjected.
Gangle raised a ribbon hand to ask a question. "Are you finally doing something to help?"
Jax taunted, "Aww, ribbons, don't act like you don't love it."
Everyone ignored him and Caine kept speaking.
"THAT I AM, my polaroid pop-up penguin! You two are going to learn how to work out your issues through RAISING A FARM together!"
"Huh??"
"IN YOU GO!" He opened a portal, gesturing them inside with his cane. "If you need assistance with your tasks, your neighbors can always help!" He flailed his arm at the rest of the group. "They'll be scattered around in their own individual living areas nearby, but don't rely on them too much. They have their own tasks to complete!"
Everyone stared at him with baffled, horrified, disgusted faces of confusion and anxiety.
Caine ignored this and had Bubble push them all through the portal.
