Summary
What if Hermione became bad, and Draco became good?
What if Hermione became a vigilante, and Draco became the Auror tasked with bringing her in?
Harry dies in the final battle, and the Ministry works overtime to convince the public that Voldemort is truly gone. Hermione and Ron are the only ones who know the truth—that Harry is dead, and they missed a Horcrux. Left to lead what remains of the Order, Hermione and Ron watch wealthy and well-connected Death Eaters walk free with little more than a slap on the wrist. Hermione takes that personally—and our moral queen decides to start hunting them down herself.
Hermione becomes a wanted criminal, searching for the last Horcrux and uncovering Death Eater plots the Ministry would rather ignore, and Draco is tasked with finding her and bringing her in.
This is a painful slow burn, and the plot gets DARK.
