“Crowley, you really must see this view. It’s magnificent!”
“View’s pretty good in here, too.”
“You’re going to miss it!”
Crowley, presently a tiny snake, peeks out between the buttons of Aziraphale’s shirt to see undulating fields under a crisp sunrise.
“Well hello, gorgeousss.”
“It really is.”
“Wasn’t referrin’ to the sunrise, angel.”
“Oh.” Aziraphale sways. “Someone’s in a flirty mood this morning.”
“I'm a reptile. Only got one thing on my mind.” Crowley retreats inside, scales caressing soft skin. “It’s so blastedly cold, and you’re so lovely n’ warm …”
Aziraphale giggles. “Then let’s go home, my dear serpent.”
