Work Header

The girls are the gays (though one isn't a girl)

Summary:

Crow smiled, putting her arm over the letter so Winter couldn't see it. She kept reading.

'I love you so much. Yet, I don't know how you could ever love me.'

Oh
Oh shit
Theo was getting self deprecating

Or:
A fic I wrote in class about a love letter I wrote to me girlfriend

Notes:

Just so you know, Crow was the code name me and my friends used for my girlfriend, cause we didn't want her ex knowing about us dating!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

"Baby!"
"My love!"

Theo ran over, wrapping their arms around their girlfriend and bending their knees just a tad.

They've always liked the shorter ones.

"Hello my wife~!" Crew cooed, placing a soft kiss atop Theo's head and wrapping her arms around their waist. Theo doesn't think they've told her that they're genderfluid. That's probably a phone conversation, though.

" Hello, my beautiful sharkie! I have gifts for you!" Theo replied, pulling away and rummaging through their purse for a few moments.

Crow's eyes lit up as Theo pulled out their small beige pouch and an envelope. The pouch was the one Theo stored their bracelet gifts and, and from it they pulled a small white bracelet made of mostly letter beads.

Crow looked up at Theo confused, but they just beamed down at her as they handed her the letter.

The envelope was (obviously) white, but Theo had decorated it with blue accents and a small purple and yellow lilac on the back. There was a cursive C. in the middle of a bunch of blue roses as well.

Crow smiled up at Theo again, placing a kiss on their hand. Theo did the same, kissing Crow's knuckles with delicacy.

Crow almost melted right there and then.

"Thank you, babe. I love them both." Crow expressed, turning around to look over to where Winter was waving her over. "And I love you, but I've gotta go. Bye lovely!"

"Bye honey!"

Crow could hardly focus on the teacher at this point.

First, she had to ask Winter what the bracelet meant. According to the non-binary, it was wrong lyrics. Crow would have to look those up later.

Second, Theo's letter remained unopened on Crow's side of the table, C side up. Winter had probably asked her about five times now if either of them could open it.

Of course, Crow wanted to open and read it herself first.

When she eventually decided to do so, she grabbed it and slowly opened the envelope, taking out the folded sheet of loose leaf paper. She carefully opened it, finally reading the letter inside.

*My dearest Crow,*

*I miss you like how Hades misses his wife during the spring.*

Crow smiled, setting the paper on her open book and her face in her other hand. Theo had always loved Greek Mythology, and while Crow herself knew nothing about it, she could always look it up or just ask her girlfriend.

*I think it was good that I was able to text you last nigh, about your favorite flowet? I looked it up to see if it fit you. It does.*

Crow could recall the late text pretty well. Theo had asked them at around 10 pm about their favorite flower. Crow didn't necessarily have one, but they had answered with-

*The white rose-*

Crow beamed. Theo had remembered.

*-mean innocence (nope), purity (in my eyes), and new beginnings. You are my white rose, my new beginning.*

Crow could've teared up right then and there if she wasn't in the middle of class.

Crow smiled, putting her arm over the letter so Winter couldn't see it. She kept reading.

*I love you so much. Yet, I don't know how you could ever love me.*

Oh
Oh shit
Theo was getting self deprecating

Crow furrowed her brow, leaning a bit down. Even then, she kept reading.

*You're so amazing, so beautiful and smart and strong. Meanwhile, you're dating a fat, idiotic childish person who can't even decide what gender they are most of the time.*

Crow sighed, putting her hand in her hair. Ava had told her that Theo could get self-deprecating over text, but this? This wasn't self-deprecation, this was self hate-

"Crow?"

Crow looked up from the letter, moving to cover it with her arm.

Winter was standing over her, concern etched onto their face. They had their own books, as well as !most of Crow's. "Are you alright?" Winter asked as Crow stood, stuff the letter into her purse.

"Yeah, I'm alright." She replied, taking her books from Winter and grabbing her other one of the table. Together, the two of them walked out into the hallway.

Theo was just walking into their next class.

If Crow could've, they would've walked over there and-

"Crow, come on." Winter beckoned, pulling her out of her stare and down the hallway.

And maybe Theo saw. Maybe they knew Crow was there and probably had read enough of the letter.

Even then, they didn't comment on it when they got home and flopped on their bed.

But oh were they in for quite a few angry texts from Crow, Ava, and maybe even Winter and Ela.

Notes:

I PROMISE I'll get back to writing Furi and Yuri it's just taking me a while 😅 Anyways I hope you enjoyed!!! I'm a sucker for comments, so please tell me what you think about this!!!
