Chapter Text
Pencil and Ruby were hanging out peacefully in Pencil's room. They had agreed to hanging out because Ruby had insisted over and over since she was bored and Bubble was busy doing extra training that Pencil put her to do for the challenges. Bubble wasn't even that bad on the training but Pencil was so busy thinking about Ruby that she didn't even notice.
The leader of FreeSmart and Ruby had just been making some kandi bracelets since Ruby had also wanted to, even if Pencil isn't reaaally used to making those, she only agreed and sighed. (Pencil can't help herself, she always agrees to everything that Ruby says for some reason... suspicious, right?) Pencil was messing up the bracelets though, while Ruby was just happily grinning and making another one already. She has already made three.
However, Ruby noticed that Pencil was having a hard time doing a bracelet, so she tried to help Pencil. She looked at Pencil and got too close to her, which made Pencil blush. (Ruby didn't notice ok) She picked the bracelet that Pencil had been doing and just let out a small giggle.
"Leader Pencil! Seems like you need help, don't you? Don't worry, Ruby is gonna help you right now!" she told the leader in third person, starting to fix the bracelet. Pencil huffed a bit, feeling annoyed that Ruby wasn't letting her do a simple, stupid bracelet. She was the leader, for gods sake!
"Ruby, you know that I don't need help doing this silly bracelet, right? I can do it myself! I'm just.. y'know! Getting used to making those!" she said commadingly, though, there was no real anger on her voice. Ruby only giggled more, ignoring Pencil. At this point, Ruby was being a bit annoying.. Pencil thought, rolling her eyes. She didn't say anything to her anyway, she simply continued to watch as Ruby fixed her badly-made bracelet.
Just then, Pencil began to wander off to her thoughts. For some reason, she felt weird around Ruby lately. She felt the urge to hug Ruby tightly and cuddle with her, even to kiss her and not in the forehead! Seriously, what was wrong with her? She couldn't feel.. feel those things for her teammate. It was just wrong, you know? She couldn't feel anything romantic for a girl, (nor a guy since she hates guys.)
As Pencil wandered off to think, she didn't notice that Ruby had finished Pencil's own bracelet and was now doing another one mindlessly. Doing kandi to Ruby was straight up really fun! She could spend hours doing it and never get bored, the same with eating candy.

Ruby didn't let Pencil think for too much time, since she was already nudging Pencil and pulling on Pencil's straight, blonde hair repeteadly, calling out to her.
"Pencil!! C'mon, wake up! Are you still alive or did you get too bored?! I'm so sorry!! We can do something else if you want, I don't mind at all! We could play videogames, read cool comics or talk about whatever you want.." she said, worried that Pencil had already gotten too bored of doing kandi and wanted to do something more fun, since Pencil didn't really seem to be entertained with doing bracelets.
She was unaware that Pencil was currently thinking about her.
Pencil, finally snapping out of her thoughts, sighed and shaked her head at Ruby, wanting her to know that she was okay and was totally not thinking about her. Actually, she did agree at doing something else, since this was kinda boring.
"Let's just do something else, Ruby. I say we watch TV and see what's interesting in there because I can't make one of those fucking weird bracelets." Pencil said, finally admiting that she was horrible at making kandi bracelets.
Ruby eventually nodded, (she's already pretty used to Pencil cursing) agreeing to watch TV with Pencil. She didn't mind at all! In fact, they could watch a really funny cartoon, well, anything that would catch her eye and Pencil's eye. So, Pencil turned the TV on and tried to search some interesting channel that wouldn't be bullshit. Ruby watched along her, her eyes wide.
Unluckily, Pencil didn't find anything interesting for herself. But, Ruby did see something that made her 'awww', it was a channel of kitties. It showed kitties meowing and information about them. (How to take care of them, etc.) Pencil wasn't really interested on kitties or on seeing them meowing, but she picked that channel just for Ruby, just to make her happy.
Ruby startled to watch that channel with the kitties meowing, while Pencil sighed out of boredom, playing with her hair for a moment. Most of the time, Ruby would tap Pencil's shoulder and point to the screen, her eyes sparkly and incredibly.. beautiful. The sight made Pencil's heart skip a beat.
"Woah Pencil, look at those cute kitties.. they're meowing so cutely!!! I hope we can adopt a kitty when we get the chance!" She cooed, her voice happy.
"No Ruby.. we can't adopt a cat right now, and you know it, you dum-dum." Pencil said. She wasn't trying to sound bossy, but she was doing the opposite.
"Aw! Fine. I just hope we can adopt one some day! It would be sooo adorable, I would die from cuteness." Ruby said, her voice still hopeful.
"Whatever.. maybe when I feel like it and everyone is okay with it." Pencil whispered to herself, her voice hesitating (and lovestruck)
