The whole day at the monastery was a mess. Pure chaos on the training grounds.
Wyldfyre was shooting heatballs at Kai the whole time, saying that she doesnt need any training because shes already better then half of the team.
Sora exploaded the kitchen trying to bake a cherry pie with Arin and Frak was supposed to help.
He didnt.
Cole ate the pie even though it was burnt to death, saying its "crunchy", making Sora gain a little bit of confidence over her baking skills. "I do not think you're supposed to eat that, Cole." Zane said, concern painting his robotic face as he looked at his friend peacfully eating the 'crunchy' pie.
Nya, standing beside the concerned Zane, nodded "i.. agree with Zane, Cole." it really was kinda concerning that their friend was eating a pie that looked like it survived through the serpentine war and still menaged to look like a pie version of Krux, all old and weird.. and crusty....
thats when Kai entered the room, smoking like he had just ran out of fire. which he technically kinda did.. "whats with all the concerned looks?" he scanned the faces of his teammates, who were all looking at Cole before he entered.
Arin sighed and looked at him "Sora burned a pie and Cole's eating it. why are you smoking?" arin looked even more concerned than a few seconds ago. he's really happy that hes a part of the ninja team. hes really glad to be with his heroes, but... he cant help bit feel concerned about them, even after all they've been through.
"okay dude thats kinda gross.." Kai exclaimed, looking at Cole devauring the burnt pie. he can't help but think how think how stupid his friend is for eating a burnt pie.
Cole looked at him offended "Dude!" he couldn't believe that his crush, of all people, isn't taking his side.
"is everyone here?" Zane asked, breaking the small argument he sensed was going to happen.
"i think Lloyd went to shower, or something." Wyldfyre emerged from behind Kai, surpassing a giggle. "i burnt his bangs."
Lloyd entered the room, hair smoking, just like Kai's. "nope. i'm here. what is it zane?" he asked right away, also earning a few concerned looks from the others. i mean... how can he not? his hair was smoking, his blonde bangs half burnt.
Zane pulled out a chair and sat, then looked around his teammates. "i've been thinking if you all wanted to have a movie night tonight." he talked, hoping that his teammates would agree on the request. "we haven't done that in a pretty long time after the Merge and everything. and since we have four new teammates, i think it'll be fun. what do you think Lloyd?" he looked at their team leader for an approval.
"OH YEAH! that would be AWSOME! i'm in!" Jay exclaimed from somewhere. of course he'd agree on that.
Arin looked around when his eyes set on Lloyd. "i think it'll be fun." he too hoped that Lloyd would agree on the movie night. "i could bake something for snacks too!"
Kai turned to Jay. "i'm in but only if Jay's not the one picking the movie."
"HEY! what is that supposed to mean?! my taste in movies is awsome, unlike your's!"
"GUYS PLEASE! stop arguing! yes, we can have a movie night. and no, Jay is not gonna pick the movie, alright?" Lloyd announced, clearly annoyed. gosh how annoying it is when your friends fight over the stupidest reasons. like c'mon! who fights over who's gonna pick a movie? Kai and Jay. that's who. but he can't really blame them because he loves them.... of course he does.
Kai laughed in victory and wrapped an arm around Lloyd's shoulders. "HAHA! CLOCKED IT! thats my lil bro!"
Jay crossed his arms "favouritizm."
"go take a shower you two..both of you stink as heck." Nya ordered her two brothers, clearly ignoring her boyfriend. after the messy and chaotic training, everyone deserves a shower.
...
a really long shower..
and thats where they all went their saperate ways. some went for a shower, Zane went to cook dinner, Arin went to bake something for them. typical ninja day.
dinner was eaten whole, the couch was a mess of blankets and pillows tossed on it in a hurry and snacks awaited them on the coffee table. of course, Zane was trying his best to make the couch as comfortable as he could for his teammates to enjoy the night which he could bet on wouldn't be quiet at all. knowing how Kai, Jay and Sora would 100% judge the lead characters, Wyldfyre would make dumb remarks and question their actions most of the time, Cole would be devauring the snacks, the only ones who would actually be quiet and watch the damn movie would be him, Nya, Arin, Frak, Pixal and Lloyd.
it was time for them all to settle down on the couch, other furniture and floor to get comfortable and start the movie Nya picked.
of course it wasnt that easy. it never was.
Cole's biggest mistake was telling Jay his biggest secret that could end a friendship in a blink of an eye. a few days before the Merge, Cole told Jay about his crush on Kai. he felt helpless. stuck in his mind and repeating random fantasies that would never play out in real life, replaying tiny moments in his head about random times when his and Kai's hands brushed during a mission and wishing things he shouldn't. it became unbearable. so unbearable that he needed to tell someone. of course, that someone would, and should, NEVER, under any circomstances, be Kai. so, like any man losing his sanity, he told his best friend, Jay, about those feelings, hoping he would understand because he had a girlfriend. and that girlfriend happens to be his crush's sister. even though he knew Jay would never shut up about it, he was the only person he could actually open up to, and also the only person who knew about Cole's sexsuality and didn't judge him for it.
now, in the livingroom, with Cole's crush on Kai being stronger than ever, Jay's mischivious personality, and Kai who just came out of the shower, it was a disaster. luckily, the others didn't notice Cole's red face and Jay throwing teasing remarks on him.
